you know about noah's ark, right? if the flood was big enough to cover the whold earth, that explains why the grand canyon was formed before the flood, the earth was beautiful and did not have any mountains to start with the earth was covered with fertile soil. the flood washed everything away and revealed the bare rocks and gorges that is now called the grand canyon. thats why theres fossils of sea creatures in the grand canyon because of the flood. that makes more sense than what the crack headed scientists say, right? also they found pieces of noah's ark on Mt. Ararat, the place where the ark rested. it is also known that Jericho was destroyed by earthquakes, which is similar to the israealites marching around the city 7 times and then God destroying it. and all the other histrorical events match with the actual history of the ancient world. First babylon, then persia, then greece, then rome, then divided europe, which is exactly how the Bible puts it. i have more proof, no room

To the nay sayers who say it was not possible. The Bible tells us everything is possible to GOD. I cannot believe that people sit back and think we were just created by an accidental fluke. Read the Word of GOD he tells us so much. Every event in history is recorded and the future is there for everyone to see. It is in print all in black and white all you have to do is pick it up and read it.

The crack headed scientists agree with you that much of the US was covered with water. They say that all the continents were together as one continent, and much of this was covered with water. Not the whole thing though. Also after they broke up as well. They just don't agree with the Bible as to what caused it, but they do say that much of the land was covered with water, and then it receded. I remember learning about that in High School during the dark ages. I just went out on the web searching for articles about Noah's ark, and can't find any that offer any conclusive proof, apart from an amateur acheologist who says a boat shaped formation is the ark, and others have apparently taken core samples from that, and found it to be a rock formation. I am still looking for an article that offers actual proof from professional acheologists. One of the articles states that the mountains of Ararat are volcanic formations. There are plenty of them out there, so I guess I will be able to keep busy with that for awhile. The Grand Canyon was carved by erosion from the Colorado River. I don't know what point you are trying to make about earthquakes toppling the walls of Jericho, that's a natural phenomenon. I am not saying that the Bible has no historical merit at all, I'm sure it does, but some of the stories could be written around trying to explain historical events that were handed down orally....Given the size of the Ark, it would be impossible to house one family, two of every animal on the planet, food for all of them, enough hay for bedding, and I don't even want to think about the issues about manure that such a trip would present. I could see taking a few critical farm animals for survival. I'm not even saying that there might not be someone who survived a storm with his family somewhere along the line, and chalked it up to divine providence, but the logistics of pulling off such a task as that are highly improbable. I'm not an athiest. I do believe in God, but I also believe that God works in mysterious ways, and that evolution is one of the ways. But while I think the Bible has some historic merit, I don't think it to be literal.

I'm not really posting a question, but a open discussion room about the Bible?
If all you want is for people to come in and back you up on your comments, that is not an "open discussion" of anything.
In an "open discussion" you hear, and think about other people's thoughts, as well as explaining your own.

No, the scientific answer makes much more sense than that ancient story. Just because you don't like what the "crack headed scientists" have to say doesn't change the fact that there was no flood and no Noah's Ark. That story, like many other fables in the Bible, is impossible. If you believe otherwise, then you are wrong.

Yikes,

Have you ever seen an area that was covered in water? Like an old lake bed, or a dried up stream.

Have you noticed at all that there are no mountians protruding from the lake? Haven't you noticed that any large area that was covered in water is alway flat? If water covered the earth, it would have caused an evening out of effect. Valleys would have been filled with sediment, mountains would have been eroded down, the whole earth would have been relatively smooth.

Your Pastor isn't a geologist, try reading about geology for your theory......

If the world was flat with soil, and the flood washed away the soil, WHERE did the soil go? If the world was flat, there were no rivers, so how did the animals drink? How is an earthquake similar to marching around? I think you need to write better sentences, maybe I'm not understanding you.

Mind adding how those mountains formed? And where did that dirt wash away to? And I'm pretty sure the ark "found" on Mount Ararat isn't the real Ark, it was proven to be a fake. And if it was the real Ark, wouldn't everyone know about it?

Nope. Nope. Nope. The Grand Canyon was formed by the Colorado River. You actually stated that water cut through the rocks and left the fossils in the residual rock. Given you contradicted one of your lies with another, I'd say that you definitely should stick to the truth.

Woah since when was the great flood in Arizona? Actually i have heard a much better explanation, a farmer, built a boat just big enough for his family and FARM ANIMALS to escape a flood, his farm being right on the river.

there is not enough water, or ice on the planet to cover the entire surface. also, if noah really did get 2 of all species, he would of had to have loaded 10,000 species per second. and last I heard about your supposed ark on the mountain is that it is a rock.

And did you know parts of Jerico were pushed straight down into the ground (as though maybe an angel pushed them down). And every coin mentioned in the Bible has been found....at least one of each if not more.
