with a few stops and turning the tredmill to lower speeds, i ate alot this weekend and plan on eating very little during the week and working out around 1000 calories per day, do you think i will lose weight? im 5'6 124 and want to get to 119 asap. how can i get rid of bulky muscles in my legs, they make my legs look so fat

it is perfectly ok, just make sure your heart rate isn't always high,, and always low, mis ix it up.
You will definatley lose weight if you burn calories and drink alot of water, you will lose your water weight from the weekend as well as about 2 pounds. Do this for about a week and you should be better than you were before the weekend

you should get used to ignoring the calories burned readout on any gym equipment... they're horribly inaccurate.

losing muscle in your legs will be an exercise in futility.
get over it. people don't look at legs on a male the way women do.

and while i'm on the subject -- men should not look at weight loss the way women do. 5'6" @124lbs... what's the problem, anyway?

in order to lose 1 lb u need to burn 3500 calories. of course u cant lose em all at once. if u lose weight too fast, u gain em faster.
5' 6" and and 124 seems like an ideal weight

Do you have any idea how long you will have to run to burn that much? I'd be stunned if you could do it.

Also if you're trying to get rid of bulky muscles in your legs you really shouldn't be running.

You will definately lose weight, but you may do irreparable damage to your body - if you haven't been working out previously.
Make sure you drink lots of Gatorade.
Running will bulk up your muscles, so will stair-climbing. Pilates are supposed to be very good for slimming muscles.
