Unfortunately, that is all too true. The only problems they will have if it not well done is mental, though, but there are some physical conditions that require their meats be cooked well done... in which case... please ignore the rest of this posting if you are one of them

I have found that people who insist on their meat being well done are usually poorly educated and haven't traveled too much... they are, for the most part, very unsophisticated people with the pallet of a pig who don't know what properly prepared food actually tastes like and are not willing to learn or try different things.

Hamburger meat must be cooked well done because the bacteria can be found throughout the meat since it is scrambled and ground up. Steak and other meat like that only has to be cooked on the outside enough to kill the germs because there are typically no germs inside the beef.

Having said that, most Americans are deficient in the digestive enzymes that digest meat because we cook it and Americans are deficient in stomach acid that kills the bacteria in the stomach.

A huge amount of the meat Americans eat goes undigested and putrefies in the intestines because of these deficiencies. The drug companies provide antacids that completely destroy the stomach acid and cause all kinds of digestive issues. So called "acid indigestion" is from lactic acid being formed from the rotting food, not stomach acid. The antacids neutralize the lactic acid, but also the stomach acid, so the food never gets digested and rots in the intestines causing all kinds of toxic issues. Now the drug companies will sell you all kinds of things to relieve the symptoms caused by the antacids. Then as you age, they will provide you with another array of drugs to relieve the symptoms from the degenerative diseases caused by the poor digestion.

If you take Betaine HCL and an activator during a meal, the so called "acid indigestion" never happens, and the meat will get digested and broken down into the various amino acids and actually provide nutrition for the body.

So it is not necessary for people to cook their meat well done, the problem is not that, it is the other digestive issues mentioned above that if done properly will not have any problems from the meat.

Yes. Most people that eat well done meat do it because they know that eating meat with blood in it is not only A SIN, but also a threat to good health.

Yes....some are very particular about their meat. I've got a friend who won't touch a steak & gets nauseous just looking at it if there's even a little bit of pink. A group of us went out to eat once & she had to send it back 3 times. After the 3rd time she just gave up & ended up giving it to one of the guys. It didn't help that some of the guys were teasing her & kept going "Moo" if she touched it to check it. Poor girl.....

I used to be kinda finicky if my meat was still even slightly pink but it doesn't bother me now. As long as it was prepared properly then I actually like my meat with some pink.....it's more tender & juicy that way!!

I have had a kidney transplant. I cannot eat meat unless it's well done. I love rare steak. I just don't eat it anymore.

ALL their problems are in their head. You do not have to eat your meat "well done" for health reasons - it is purely preference and/or culture (I was in Caribbean and they insist on hamburgers well done - mostly because they do not have proper refrigeration).
