Ohh, I think I get it. She stole it from your friend. She pretended she thought it was stolen so he got mad and gave it to her, then she could give it to you as a present. So she planned it all along.

Your g/f got mad at your friend (as planned by her earlier), slapped him and forced him to give the necklace to her. So she is the first person who stole it.
You accepted it from her, but the story isn't clear if she gave it to you as a gift, or whether you know that it was your friend's necklace that she gave you. Hence I give you the benefit of doubt, and you may not be accused of stealing.

Both you and your girlfriend stole from your friend. If she knew all along the necklace wasn't yours but forced your friend to give it to her - that is stealing in a sense. And, the fact you know all of this and haven't given the necklace back to your friend is another form of stealing. Did you say this guy was your "friend"? Doesn't sound like a nice way to treat a him. And, by the way, if your friend gave the gold necklace up so easily to your girlfriend, it sounds as though another "theft" might be happening -- he might be "stealing" your girlfriend!!

Your gf stole from your friend. However, by excepting the gold necklace, knowing that she stole it, you stole it too!
