You don't necessarily want to lower your fever. Consider the following from the Mayo Clinic:
... fevers aren't necessarily bad. In fact, they seem to play a key role in helping your body fight off a number of bacterial and viral infections.
...If you're an adult, a fever may be uncomfortable, but it usually isn't dangerous unless it measures 103 F or higher.
...If you don't know why you have a fever, it's best not to try to lower your temperature.
...some experts think that aggressively treating all fevers actually interferes with your body's immune response. That's because the viruses that cause colds and other respiratory infections thrive at cool temperatures. By producing a low-grade fever, your body may actually be helping eliminate the virus.

I am a nurse so I hope this helps you out....For a fever that high and you are not allergic to Tylenol or Mortin (aspirin) you can alternate every two hours with the Mortin and Tylenol. Say you take Motrin at noon, you can take Tylenol at 2pm and another dose of Motrin at 4pm and Tylenol again at 6pm. There are no interactions between the two and they are safe to take this way.
Cold compresses also help- Wet a wash cloth and place it in a ziplock bag and put it in the freezer until it is almost froze. Place this on your forehead every few hours to help bring the temperature down. Also. when you shower take a cool luke warm bath no matter how cold you feel when in the water. Taking a hot bath will only increase the fever or make it come back.
Finally, drink plenty of water. The normal daily allowance is 64 oz. Try drinking this plus more if you can. Juices like Gatorade will help to replace the electrolytes in your body but you need regular water more than anything. The sugars in the juices can dehydrate you even more an keep you from getting rid of what you have.
Good Luck!!!

i'm no longer effective yet i think of a fever below a hundred.4 ranges is high-quality for a baby. Fevers are meant to help combat off any micro organism or virus it is in the physique. a funky tub is a foul theory on the grounds which you will desire to offer your toddler chills and make him sense worse. gown him the type you may if he did no longer have a fever. lower back, in case you placed him in purely a t-blouse he would desire to get chilled. At maximum, placed a funky compress (a funky-no longer chilly- wash fabric works purely high-quality) on his brow and a few cool-no longer chilly- gatoraide. make effective he remains hydrated. shop monitoring his temp to make effective it would not get too intense. Unfortunatly, he will in all risk be somewhat uncomfortable yet it is portion of being ill. One final theory is a large wal-mart. i comprehend those in my city are open 24/7. in any different case, i might propose which you refill on products inclusive of tylenol for all the situations which you'll want it handy. yet another good element to maintain reachable is gum gel for teething. i'm no longer able to tell you procedures many situations i've got mandatory that throughout the time of direction of the nighttime!

Take a luke warm bath , not cold water , and not too hot , get lots of rest , and make sure that you take in alot of fluids , as having a fever causes some people to dehydrate. Just take it easy , and an aspirin usually helps.

Acetominiphen tables will work, and are the first choice of doctors and mothers everywhere.
Aspirin may work as well or better, but it is not recommended for children or teens as it can cause unwanted (bad) side-effects.
If temperature is very high, take a cool shower or bath.
If the fever persists, see your doctor or go to a hospital.

Take a warm bath...not a cool one because it is still cold outside. You can also rub urself down with Isopropyl alcohol. Also you may want to take a cool rag and place it on your forehead and/or neck. These are all great fever releavers!

to cool down, you need to sweat. Usually, i would try to do some exercise. If you dont have the energy, wrap yourself in a blanket to keep yourself really warm.
Avoid cold places, and i will not recommend you to take hot shower because after you shower, you will get chilled again, and it can get worst.
