Apparently many Christians, because of the differences in scripture and scientific discovery, say that humans were around during the dinosaurs. This clearly would be the only answer someone who believes in scripture could produce because of carbon dating that tells us dinosaurs were certainly arund before any human matter was. I just want to hear you argue about it and I challenge a christian to come up with an answer thats not absurd. Christians who do not believe this need not apply.

( To keep it simple ) They don't have one, most of CREATIONISTS or YOUNG EARTH groups don't agree with the findings of Radiocabon Dating (carbon 14), because it can only date organic material to 40,000 years +/- 50 years; that is their case for argument; but Potassium-Argon is another form of dating which you don't hear much about from them because, it can do inorganic (like rocks or organic material that turned into fossils) up to 1.3 billion years, there is also Thermoluminescence Dating (mostly for dating volcanco).
There are other forms of Dating as well, but we won't go into that right now, even though evidence is before them, even though the five books of Moses (Gensis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy) are in two other religions, the TORAH and the HEBREW BIBLE, and in some parts of the Quran, even though there are other creations stories before gensis was even thought up. Zoroastrianisn religion started in 1700-1000 BC, Hinduism religion started in 2600-1500 BC and Egyptian religion started in 4000 - 3000 BC (in general timeline not exact) The only thing the CREATIONIST and YOUNG EARTH care about is themselves and believing in old stories, which is nothing more than a fairy tale for children

Okay, I'll bite. It's a better question than most on here.

I'll start with what evidence exists to suggest that dinosaurs existed during humans.

1. Scripture mentions their existence.
Job 40:15-41:34 describes in detail two great beasts that fit the description of dinosaurs. They are not mentioned here as a creature of legend, rather they are listed alongside many other creatures in creation as God tells Job to shut up and quit whining.

2. Scripture is not the only historical reference to dinosaurs.
Their may be more than I have knowledge of, but I know that Sumerian, Chinese, African, Aztec, Mayan, Phoenician, Egyptian, and Indian histories all reference creatures that fit the description of dinosaurs. That's a lot of cultures, and I am sure there are others that I don't know about.

3. Dinosaur Valley.
Dinosaur Valley is in Texas near the Oklahoma border, and I don't know if they still actively are escavating, but in 1983 they discovered a human hand inside of an Allosaurus. They also found human footprints along side some dinosaur footprints within the same rock in what is now a river. I should note that the rock evidence isn't as solid, because, well, having things in the same layer of rock never says much of anything, since rock layers can be added and taken away over time, which is why we don't have the geological column anywhere in the world.

4. Japanese Fishermen
In 1979, Japanese fisherman caught a large, sea dwelling dinosaur in their nets. Pictures were taken of it, though the creature was too large for the ship to bring back to shore. Dead things in the ocean don't last very long, they either get eaten or decompose. Usually the first.

5. Mekele Mibembe.
In Africa, there are countless tribespeople in the jungle who have had no previous experience with the global community, and have told visitors of their tribe of a creature in the jungle known as mekele mibembe. It is described as being an apatasaurus. They speak of having killed one in the past, and finding that the meat was not good for eating. Generally, they fear this animal because of it's immense size and strength. Granted, scientists have yet to observe this creature, but still, even if had been several generations ago that it was witnessed, it is clear that the creature has been in existence with a human timeline.

6. Carbon Dating.
You've probably heard this schpiel before from secular scientists, or at least religious ones, but carbon dating is only effectively used in sterile conditions (aka in volcanic rock) and only up to a date of about 12,500 years. Beyond that, the decomposition of carbon is not fully regular, and cannot be used for accurate dating. This is the point at which scientists use rock layers to define ages, and we've already touched on the reliability of those.

EDIT: The first discovery of Dinosaurs was made in 1676.

Radiocarbon dating doesn't work well beyond around 62K years ago. At that point, you would have no measurable carbon-14 left with traditional testing methods to determine a date with any real precision. At best you can probably get accuracy out to 100K years, but that's with the latest testing methods that probably won't be used unless there's a real need. So if a Christian disputes radiocarbon dating in reference to dinosaurs, then he or she would be correct.
There are many other radiometric dating methods that do work and are used to date fossils.

Bubber, do you honestly think C14 dating is used on rocks?

First: God created the world in 6 days and rested the 7th. In the bible, it says 1 day to god is like a 1000 to us. So I do believe that humans were here then.Every thing was created at the same time( With in a week ).
Second: We as humans have all this knowledge about the past and present etc. All of our inventions and technology...
But we only assume we are correct: We may well be doing carbon dating wrong....We only think we are correct in things we do because some one came up with a theory and put it into play. Then it became science...Even science can not be proven 100 %. We live our lives as if we know it all but do we really?

People don't use carbon dating for dinosaur fossils. Carbon dating is accurate to about 60 000 years, dinosaurs lived more than 60 million years ago.

Correction:

No dinosaur fossil has EVER been radiocarbon dated.

Radiocarbon dating is only valid from about 10,000 years ago to about 50,000 years ago. Any earlier or latter and variance errors grow too large for accuracy.

So Christians who assert that radiocarbon dating of dinosaur fossils is flawed are both correct -- and utterly wrong. Radiocarbon dating a dinosaur fossil would be entirely invalid; this is why it is never done.

Most fossils are radiopotassium dated.

There is nothing in the Bible to indicate that the days in which creation occured were literal days - that is, in many biblical accounts, it spoke of "days" and it represented longer periods of time (often years). That said, the Bible doesn't discount dinosaurs existing prior to humans... every part of creation was done before humans, according to the Bible. This leaves plenty of room for the dinosaurs to roam the earth for a great deal of time before Adam and Eve were created.

I know you said Christians who do not believe this need not apply but I just wanted to speak up for us and say it is not Christians who believe this but fundamentalists. I listened in my science classes at school.

Carbon dating dated a recent lava flow "millions of years" old. Different dating methods should ALWAYS agree, the do nothing of the sort, so why should we believe a one of them?

In the beginning God created the heavens and earth no time period is given but it was millions of years ago.
