Protein and water. After a workout (especially weight lifting) it's a good ideal to quickly replenish your carbohydrate and protein stores. Protein helps build muscle that was damaged during the weight lifting and the muscles will come back stronger for your next workout. Chocolate milk is acually a really good recovery drink following a workout because of all the different nutrients in it. If you really want supplements......Whey Protein or Creatine are the usual ones although I never needed any of that. You can accomplish anything with a good plan.

There's many things you can take depending of how you want to build your body. If you are trying to get slim and fit, or big and muscular, etc.
I would recommend to start with a good exercise program and a healthy diet, before you start taking anything. I would consider whey proteins, they come in a variety with a combination of creatine also in many forms. If trying to loose weight I would recommend a good aerobic program and diet as well as a supplemen such as hydroxycut.
