Dear me - not another one!!!
Look and learn:
I am here becuase religion is a fascinating subject. One doesn't have to actually be suffering from cancer to be interested in talking about it. One doesn't have to be suffering from the delusion of religion to be interested in talking about it. It is a human condition that bears debate.
I don't want or need another 'chat room' but this isn't a chat room.
I don't have to convince anyone that god does not exist, particularly myself. I have known it for the last 53 years.
I am not searching for the answers. I have no questions that you can answer. The so-called holy books do not supply the answers but they do supply contradictions and lies and confirmation that the bible and similar should be ignored almost totally (Hey - there is SOME good advice in there!)
Do you understand now? Do you feel rather silly now?

I follow Shinto. I don't believe in the Christian God, but I am still spiritual.
I come to these forums because I enjoy the debate, and because of the various questions from religious people about the non-religious and the religions they don't understand.
If atheists didn't answer questions about atheists, then all you would get is a pile of uneducated guesses, misinformation and propaganda. The same is true of all religions represented here.

Of course, these boards are open to everyone anyway. Therefore, anyone can post here, and you have no reasonable excuse to tell them otherwise.

What a hypocritical question..... asking why we try to convince that god doesn't exist at the same time as you tell us what we should do with our lives! I have seen so many christians sticking their noses where they don't belong. Answering questions..... Not with anything helpful, but instead with "god bless you" or "find jesus"..... What kind of advice is that?

Jesus doesn't pay my bills, jesus doesn't do my job, jesus doesn't do anything for me...... So stop going around telling everyone that Jesus is the answer..... I had Jesus in my life when i was younger & he didn't do anything for me..... My life has been so much better since i've let go of this archaic idea of religion.

We're all free to post where we want to whatever questions we wish to answer. At least we give LOGICAL advice that can be backed up with proof rather than telling people to rely on your imaginary friends to solve all of their problems.

There is nothing wrong with speaking the truth. If you don't like non-believers on this forum then DO NOT COME HERE. We have just as much right to be here as you do.

Interesting question. Honestly. I will give my honest answer

Well, for me this is an interesting forum as I have fun watching two sides throw things at each other, and I get to do it once in a while. And I am really bored.

I guess it also have to do with why a couple of people who came inside my house and started talking about God. I didn't mind that much, but seems like some people do.

The only book that has the answers to what I am looking for is The World of Beers. Now, I can discuss religion and spirituality and not believe in a god.

If I recall correctly, this section of ask Yahoo was for "Religion and spirituality" neither of these topics necessitates any gods let alone one God.

I am a religious person, I am Taoist. I don't believe in God but I search not. "What is a good person but a bad person's teacher, what is a bad person but a good person's charge." That is why I post here.

I would thank you to be more careful with your wording. not all whom do not believe in God are atheists.

Atheism is the rejection of religion. That means it is ABOUT religion. So this is the place to talk about it. And this question gets asked like 50 times a day. Are you guys really that insecure that you can't take criticism?

And I have read the Bible. The Old Testament is a horrible faerie tale. I don't know why you guys would follow that tyrant even if it were true.

It's not a chat room and we have just as much right to be here as you do.

I find it interesting debating issues such as religion.

I'm fascinated by what people are prepared to believe.

I also like to encourage people to think.

I would like to do what I can to encourage those who may be swayed by the evangelists to think again and let logic guide them.

Religious fundamentalism is one of the most dangerous problems this world currently faces.

You seem to think the christian god is the only path people follow or don't follow. There are many religions and people who do not believe also have opinions on religion. In a free country everyone has the right to that.
