I know this sounds crazy but he looks like a Jack Russell/Pit Bull mix... is that possible?

Maybe a fox terrier.

I would suggest you research Jack Russells, because from his description that's what his personality sounds like.

And kudos to you for 1-adopting! and 2-doing research!! I'm so proud of you!!!!

If you aren't sure about the stafford terrier, look at the jaw bone inside the mouth. This will be a really thick solid bone. It may be a boxer mix also. They have a lot of the same jaw looks on the outside. If it is a stafford be careful. They are in the Pit family. I'm not knocking them, but you need to know how they were raised.

A Staffordshire Terrier is what is well known as a "pit-bull". This dog looks like he's half-stafforshire half-some kind of schnauzer, maybe.

With mutts, you never know what the dog will be like, because they borrow genes from whatever breeds they are. With mutts (or any dog, for that matter), it is best to give them a lot of socialization when they're young so they can learn how to behave.

It's not a Staffordshire Terrier. It looks like a rough coated Jack Russell.

Awww..what a cutie. He looks part Jack Russell to me. Terriers by and large, all have similar temperment characteristics...look for info on several different terrier types and you should have a good idea on what that little guy is all about.

Wow, what were they smoking when they chose AmStaff for that dog??

My bet is Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) as the predominant breed.

The only thing I would be concerned with is his disposition and his health- he's a cute puppy.

Looks like it may also have some schnauzer(sp) in it as well.
