I'm curious. How many of you have adopted unwanted children from here in the United States, or from the country in which you now live?

Whitehorse...the typical argument, other than abortion is murder, is that the mother could have put the child up for adoption-there are lots of families wanting babies. So I'm curious as to how many making this claim put their money where their mouth is.

By the way, you all have an equally valid opinion on this controversial matter.

Each of you receives a thumbs up from me. I appreciate the honesty.

ohh not me but i wish i could! but then again i'm still in middle school, 12 years old,a minor, no job and have too much on my mind hw, friends, parents, church lol!!! when i have a job (and have finished graduate school and have a husband or something you can probably tell i'm one to believe that it's better to be married for both your child and you before you adopt, that's why i also believe in abstinence) i do plan on adopting at least one kid, because if abortions are no longer used as a form of birth control, there obviously will be more lives for our community to receive!!! and a thumbsup (or star w/e) to you too! i wish all people who wished to challenge other people's sides of the argument were as nice and open minded as you! hope this helps! thanks

I am approved to adopt and have been looking to adopt an older child since they are the one's who have a tougher time finding a home. Unfortunately, I was laid off at work, so it's on a hold status for now. I am pro-life because I was adopted myself. If my birth mother had chose the other alternative I wouldn't be here. I am pro-life for me. I would never consider abortion. I don't judge those who do it though. That's their choice if they can live with it. I just wouldn't be able to live with myself.

I have not, and neither have I stopped the senseless murder of a man on the street for the contents of his wallet. It isn't because I think murder, of anyone for any reason, is okay, it is because I have not had the opportunity. I have never come across a man being murdered, and I am currently a student, without the funds to adopt.

Does this say that I would not do either of these things, at some time in the future when and if the opportunity presents itself? Not at all! Of course I would!

Since I myself am adopted, I am pro-life, but I am also pro-education, pro-birth control, pro-abstinence.

The problem is not the unborn of unwanted pregnancies, those children are at a premium ... they are all adopted. The problem are abandoned children, over the age of 3. They are the ones who will most likely never be adopted.

Hello Red Queen.. :)

If I was much younger and my health was not an issue, I would consider it an honor, to adopt a child that is unwanted or in need..

I do teach Sunday School for 4th - 7th graders..Children's Church for 4 - 6 year olds and Missionette's for 5 year old little girls (Daisies)..

I know it does not make up, for giving a Loving home to a precious little child who may be in desperate need..

But they are all in my prayers daily..

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..your Friend..In Christ.. :)

If the government would suddenly say to help with the increased cost health care we are going to start euthanizing the elderly that can't afford their own health care. Also the handicapped, retarded, and disabled that can't pay for their own health care will be euthanized. I wonder how many of these people the pro-euthanasia people would take in.
A life is precious no matter the age or condition.

I have not adopted a child but I am a birth parent. I think that counts. Your question is very , very offensive to those who love children and believe in their right to life. Not everyone was fit to be a parent but everyone does have the right to accidentally get pregnant. If I could adopt children I would...but I made some stupid mistakes in my past that will keep me from being able to financially care for anymore than I have now.

I haven't adopted any children. But I believe that it is just as important to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. If those who don't want children didn't get pregnant in the first place, there wouldn't be any unwanted children.

What have you done?

If I had the money, I would. I want a child. It's not a matter of not wanting to adopt, but not being financially able to.
