I don't believe it gets much lower than this. It was unheard of in my day, when I look back, for a woman to sell her child, let alone 7 years old, to men. http://www.cnn.com/2007/LAW/04/01/sex.sting.ap/index.html These ungodly, perverted, crazed acts seem to be ever so common in society today. No one who truly knows the God of heaven and earth can stand by and not be sickened by this evil and perverse generation.
When women/men are encouraged to sexually pervert themselves; these things are inevitable.
Perversion is in opposition to virtue; and true vitue is of God.
When will our people learn?

Retod,
Unfortunately you just miss the point.
Man was created by God as the crown of all his creation, in God's image and after His likeness (holy, righteous and good), with a reasonable soul, to rule on God's behalf over all creation.

Man was created for God's glory, that God might manifest himself and be magnified in, through, and above his creature.

Solomon's search for meaning in life came to this all-embracing conclusion: "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man" (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

THIS man of God was MUCH wiser that YOU or ME.

Sansfear,
I a terribly sorry you're confused about "the church of Christ" and thos many, many different entifies in the world that "profess christianity. But, the sad fact is that those that reject Christ and those that pervert "spiritualy" the church in representation are numbered together.

2007-04-02 04:49:26 · update #14

Gabiel,
No. Those people you accept as "christian" are people who "profess" to be Christan. YOU can DO THAT. that lie just serves to delusion to those that believe it.

"You start by asserting that the level of Godlessness has gone as low as it can. So things are pretty Godly.
Then you talk about evil and perverse things happening, how society is sick.

This is a Godly society?

There are days when I am glad I am not 'one of the chosen' if this is what your God deems a fitting environment for the jewel of his creation to dwell in.

I shudder to think what the Christian heaven must be like.

It all sounds truly awful.

You're right. When will people learn?"

Rose,

Matthew 24 was a prophecy by Jesus of the destruction of Jerusalum. which DID take place around AD 70. Please study this. LOT'S of people, I believe, misuse the interpretation of THIS to be referring to today. (Email me for more info.)
But, you are right these are perilous time. And it WILL get worse. Thank you for the reminder, sister.

I so wish that I could answer your question with yes, it has gotten as low as it can go. But if I am to believe my Bible and I do, then the answer is that it will only get worse. Like you, I am sickened by the things that are going on in this world today. For me, it is so depressing to even think about all this evil around us and if I run upon it and can do anything about it, I will. For that, that I can do nothing about, I just remember the word of God. Revelations 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominiable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Some of these people you speak of will never learn, but while burning in that lake and justifiably so; they will have to everly remember why they're burning. And eternity is a long time.

I can't answer this on here I want to scream, but I will put this on the website later, people aren't suppose to scream in our society any more take a happy pill and feel all better about all of it, this infuriates me if this is true, the evidence has to be found in a justifiable court of law a constitutional one and if it is then this is more horrible then anything that I have heard in a long time and this little girl well she is not "mentally ill" so don't call her that, but I bet the system is already treating her in that way. And that is even more profoundly sick to me. It is "not" her fault!

I believe we haven't seen anything yet. This is just some of the things but much more to come. St. Matthew chapter 24 talks about the destruction of the temple and signs before the end. We are living in perils times and as christians we must let our neighbors, friends, co-workers, relatives see us living Christ instead of talking. Let's witness with wisdom until Christ comes - some plant, some watered, but God give the increase. Spread the good news about Jesus Christ!!!!

Godlessness has nothing to do with it and people are no morally worse today than they were 50 years ago. You just hear about it more often as stories like that draw readers/viewers and are good for broadcasting companies ratings. As tragic as that situation is, people are doing more and more to catch these types of perverts than they were 50 years ago when crap like this would have been swept under the carpet to keep a families "business" quiet from others. You can spout "the end in near" all you want but we live in MUCH better times than those who have gone before us.

While it may be true that Church attendance is up and more people seem to be expressing an interest in Religion very few are expressing any interest in FAITH in GOD and JESUS CHRIST.
Someday we may learn that dogma and tradition have nothing to do with salvation.
It is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and our acceptance of that sacrifice.
Then we are to live a life that reflects Jesus Christ to a dying world.
I could go on but I don't want to take off on a rant.
May God Bless.

Well, the government isn't performing human sacrifices on the white house lawn, yet.

But your point is well taken. There is a choice before each one of us, a choice to live our lives in service to others, or to live our lives in service to ourself. What we are witnessing is the mass polarization around these choices. While the news primarily covers those who make almost unbelievable self-serving choices, there is also a mass spiritual awakening as people begin to realize that all-is-one and the true path to God is unconditional Love and selfless giving towards all of God's creatures.

Genesis 19:8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

How is what you described any different than what Lot did to his daughters?

It is not godlessness that is bringing this country down it is the hypocritical Christians who think they are better than everyone else.

Every generation has had this same thought as you've put here. Each one thinks this is as low as godlessness can go.

Should we be sickened by evil? Sure, we are to abhor it.

Is it worse than ever? Not in percentages, but in actual number, yes. It's just that in today's society, you hear about it quicker, and you hear from places that long ago you would not have known existed.

ah so it would seem a christian has a problem with things in the world and yet most christians are the problem in the world today. did you know that most of the american prisons are full with christians? i bet you didnt and did you know that there are 2 billion christians in the world today? i bet you didnt know that either and i am sure you didnt know that the bible also says its ok to sell your kids into slavery either huh? i bet if you really wanted to you will find that the bible teachs all sorts of evils and people are starting to figure it out and leave it too. did you know there are 3.4 million deconverted christians on a yearly basis? i bet you didnt know that either. so lets just face the facts here. the bible tells people its ok to do what you think is wrong and inhumane. think about all the animals that get killed by christians because they think they are superiour to animals as well they are doing what the bible says they can do sad really.
