it really doesn`t hurt at all, i have 10 total piercings in my ears (7x left, 3x right)...usually for the ears, they use the gun...the ear piercing that hurt the worst for me was the cartilage at the top of my ear, & it wasn`t that bad, so i`d say just relax!!! but if u are still nervous and/or unsure, don`t do it...or wait a while & do it later...

LOL!! Don't worry, it does not really hurt at all. It is the noise of the gun that makes you jump!! And I recommend that you get the piercing done with a gun, just because it is much faster than a needle, and does not hurt. And yes, I have both ears pierced a couple times each. No, none of the piercings hurt at all. Really!! The sound of the "snap" as the gun pierces your ear is the worst thing about the entire experience. So, relax and go have your ear pierced!! Just be sure to follow the cleaning directions that you are given, and keep the stud in for at least two weeks, then whatever you want can go i your ear after that (gives the hole a good chance to heal completely!) Good luck, and enjoy!!

Hey there, definately a gun which has a type of needle in it which makes it fast and virtually painless. You can get it done at Claires in the mall, or piercing pagoda if you have them. The 2nd ear lobe piercing doesn't hurt but for a minute. Just be sure that you keep putting the medicine on it for however long they tell you....I think it is a few weeks so it doesn't become infected...if it becomes infected, I promise it will hurt. It may be tender at first like when you are talking on the phone, or laying down. Just follow their instructions and you should be fine. =) Good luck!! (Also, go for the stainless steel earrings, they last longer and supposedly don't get infected as much)

My dear I am deafly afraid of needles and getting shots, b ut one thing that doesn't bother me is getting my ears pierced. It doesn't hurt at all, I don't really recall feeling any pain in my 2nd holes but I did feel a very small amount of pain in my cartilage. I do think that you should get it b/c its really not that big of a deal and you will realize that once thier pierced that you made a fuss over nothing. As for asking should you get pierced with a needle or gun, well defaintly a gun and by a professional. The gun wont hurt, but the needle might.

Make sure you go to a licensed piercing place, they will use a gun, it doesn't hurt that much, just a little pinch, it hurts way more in the cartilage. you will not see the needle unless you ask to. You will be fine, the worst part is after wards for about 2 weeks trying to sleep.

sweetheart i did mine myself lol with an 18 gauge needle. im 15. i got mine pierced when i was 6 but i just did my left 2nd lobe about a month ago and it didnt hurt until after. but a gun would be faster but they do it with a blunt earring so it hurts like a *****. but if they do it with a needle it wont hurt as bad. but dont take the earring out to clean it. it wont heal right. just get alcohol on a q-tip and rotate the jewelry. good luck girl!!

Most ear piercers use a gun - and trust me, it's nothing. One snap and it's over. Just be sure to keep the new piercing clean because if it gets infected - it's going to hurt a lot more than the piercing itself.

Feels like a pinch, seriously...and it's over so fast, you don't really notice it (unless you stress yourself out beforehand.) Good luck!

Yep it hurts like heck... Bunch of burning and then after that very tender... You are 13 and your getting a second one I got my first when I was a little bitty baby and my mom allowed me to get my second when I was 17.

But it really hurts but it normally goes away after about a week or two. Make sure to keep it clean.

gun is faster, more like a flu shot.
Take some tylenol before you go, like 1 hour before.
