Muslims today invoke the Quran to justify the worst terrorist crimes. Throat slitting of infidels is mentioned in the Quran. Al-Mawardi (d. 1058), the prominent 11th century jurist quoted this verse, specifically, "When you encounter those who deny (the Truth) then strike (their) necks." (Quran sura 47 :4), in his learned discussion of jihad.

This ritual execution is also mentioned in other Muslim legal texts and in narratives of Christian and prominent Muslim historians. Today it is performed against infidels and recorded on videotape for the edification of Muslim audiences.

very nice, yes Killing is not allowed. The Western Media is very good at spinning and making up things, it's funny how the Media never releases a full chapter and it's historical context, instead they find a small area where they have no clue why it was said and when and they only say that verse but, will not say the verses before and after and looking at the historical context. ok, you must understand something, you know countries like:
Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, and many others say and created up their own man made goverment and are slowly moving away from what Islam and Allah {STW} has told us to rule under. No doubt ! Islam is a peaceful religion. Critics of Islam also admit this fact. They cannot produce a single verse which allow killing of innocent people.

Why is it Allah can not fight his own battles? He has 1000's or more in Islam to do it for him. Someone talks about the media bias here in the US. Why is it the beheadings in Islamic countries are banned from broadcasting in the US? If Americans saw the 40-70 people beheaded every year I'm sure they wouldn't be so convinced of pulling out of Iraq. Just a thought.

There is no single justification form Qurran or Sunnah give the permission to kill innocent peopel (not militants).


Have you heared about Samson who is the third to last of the Judges of the ancient Children of Israel mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, the Tanakh. He died together with his victims as he collapsed a Philistine temple:
"Samson said, 'Let me die with the Philistines!' Down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more as he died than while he lived." (Judges 16:30).

This is called justification to do suicide attack...

You can keep saying it over and over again, but those who do not want to believe will never believe and its pointless trying to convince them otherwise. I expect the usual brouhaha about Islam and muslims from the crowd here. Yahoo Answers! is not the place to convince anyone of anything - my conclusion.

Just look at Brendan below, take his quote regarding the verse 8:12 from the Quran: "I will instil terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them." , the complete verse being:

008.013 This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment.

It was a message from God to the Angels for a specific war, but look how he has twisted the meaning by using a part of the verse.

when the prophet (pbuh) did go to war, he warned the soilders to not touch anything but the people fighting against them. Not a child, a plant, an elderly person unaffiliated with the battle, an animal was to be touched.
