The first sin was Adam and Eve's disobedience. From that point on, man was destined to die and have to work harder than what was originally planned and the woman would have to suffer pain in childbirth.

Do not confuse the "first sin" with the "original sin" as man has come to define the original sin. Many denominations use the original sin to justify baptising infants. But that is clearly a teaching that is not found in the Bible. We are not born into the original sin. Babies and those who do not know wrong from right are sinless.

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him." Ezekiel 18: 20

Jesus also compared his kingdom, the church, to that of a little child.

"But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein." Mark 10:14-15

If a child is born into sin, why would Jesus compare his kingdom to a sinful person??

Why do people have such a problem with the idea of Original Sin? I was asked by a Jew about that not too long ago. It's amazing how God proves His word, simply amazing!

They didn't believe in His Son, and He said that they wouldn't, and they continue to this day to doubt Him.

He prophecied that there would be a day when they would recognize 'He whom they had pierced' and they still doubt Him.

Look in the scriptures, and you will find the concept of original sin in them. Genesis 3, God's warning them of something. Don't do it, He said. And they did it,and people have been dying ever since. What more do you need?

Dear Friend

In this scripture cited from Romans:

Romans 5:Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ
12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned— 13for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. 14Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.

God Bless

Actually...sin started before adam and Eve....It started with Lucifer ...the cherubim angel who's pride caused him to rebel against God...He then came into the garden when man was created and deceived Eve...and sin entered man...but it started with Lucifer..I will post the scriptures that talk about it...don't be confused ..the main character is lucifer the scripture refers to..

Isaiah 14:12-15..the thought he had and the war that cast him down

the king of tyrus is the parallel or equivalent of lucifer here in Ezekiel 28:12-17..This is really where it started but ,,in Isaiah is when he was cast down...God bless

In the Old Testament of the Bible, in the book of Genesis (chapter 3).

"Original Sin" refers to the act of eating from the Tree of Knowledge, which resulted in Adam & Eve's expulsion from Eden (according to Genesis in the Christian's bible).
The term was probably coined by the Roman Catholic Church at some point.

The first time the subject is brought up as original sin is in the epistles of Paul. He states it as all men have sinned through Adam and all men are saved the Christ Jesus.
