What do you think of my idea?

When someone wants to have an abortion we put three marbles in a bowl. Each of a different color, one is the mom, one is the dad, and another is the baby. Maybe a couple more for the governor. WE mix them all up in a bowl, and the mom has to close her eyes and pick out a marble, which ever one she picks has to die....

Is that fair? I think it is....

I think you're an idiot, but that's beside the point.

So tell me this - if you got ovarian cancer and it was caught early and you were told you could have a simple operation and would be well from then on, would you do it? Or would you wait for nine months until the cell-division was so advanced you either had to have a full hysterectomy or surely die, and then want to haul the tumour out for a quick chat to see what it thought about your plan before acting...

Yes, so it's a pretty silly scenario, but go back to the point where you found out you had a small bunch of cells inexorably replicating within your body. At that point there is essentially no difference between the cancer cells and the pre-embryonic cells, yet both will have dire consequences if left to their own devices. So when I became accidentally pregnant (broken condom, could happen to anyone, but at least I was making the attempt) I was almost instantly so ill I thought I did have something terminal. It was a total no-brainer to me to have the source of my illness removed as quickly as possible - and thankfully I live in a time and country where that was easily done. I had very good reasons for not allowing that bunch of cells to become anything vaguely resembling a person - which I am happy to go into if anyone is interested.

But my main point is where do you "right-to-lifers" reap the outrageous arrogance to suggest that you should have any say in what I do to and with my own body, let alone my children, actual or merely potential?

That's horrible of you.

Abortion is not murder (according to the Supreme Court). First of all, a blastocyst has no brain or heartbeat. After the 1st trimester, the pregnancy is too far along to be legally terminated, so no legal abortions are performed on 'aware' (or even minimally developed) embryos. Second of all, most women who get an abortion only do so as a last resort, after making an agonizingly difficult decision to go through with it.

Using Russian Roulette to answer abortion is cruel, exaggerated and inhuman.

This doesn't seem the least bit relevant.

say I want to go to the shops. I put some marbles in a bowl, one is me, another is the shop, one is a shirt i like. I pick one out and that is the day i decide to go shopping. Sounds about the same as your idea.

How about those marbles mean something else...One is for you, then whichever is chosen has to incur the responsibility nd cost of caring for the child. Actually, since you are the one with the issue, how many kids have you adopted? How many kids do you pay for Do you help families without enough money to have food, clothes, housing, enough work? Instead of ranting, go help someone, jerk!

You're 15? Well you have a lot to learn, and a lot more of life to experience. Maybe some day you'll understand why people have abortions without judging them

Although I hate abortion, I do not feel that this is an effective method of communication.

The problems generally lies with the awareness of the baby, government and ethics.

Show people some images of premature babies like this one here

This should act as a repellant.

god you are as dumb as a brick.

I'm amazed you don't see the inherent differences between killing an unformed protohuman and a fully-developed human with ties to parents/friends/lovers/peers and a history. What is even more amazing is that you seem perfectly willing to kill as punishment. If you were consequent in your 'life-affirming' beliefs you would also oppose the death penalty.

You can't do that to all the people that want to abort, because maybe they were raped or an accident happened.
