Why do some christians think that atheists are suggesting we really believe in God by the answers we give to some questions?

Don't they understand the meaning of "context"?

Any suggestion that deep down, I may believe in God is really quite laughable.

Oh, and Primoa, rather than waste time praying for me, perhaps you'd be better served spending that time reading up a bit on evolution and cosmology.

Out of all the statements that some of them make on here, that one confuses me the most. If I really did secretly believe in God, why wouldn't I admit it? What do I have to gain by pretending to be a "non-believer"? I don't get it.

Yes, I have read books on evolution.
Yes, I understand the meaning of "context".
Yes, I read books on cosmology, and my favorite TV channel is "Discovery". I actually own three excellent DVDs on cosmology, produced by the same TV channel.
No, I don't believe that you believe in God, somehow. I believe that you know very little, that is why you believe so strongly in whatever you chose to believe. Just like the Christians that you look down on: they know just little, that is why they believe without questioning. A true intellectual, evolutionist or religious, would not be as radical as you are.

Aren't Evilution and Cussmology the ways of Darkness, like Bologia?
Sorry, I can't help myself. Christian is So easy to misspell, and it looks downright funny when it is, but when the fundies try to parody science, well...

Chin up, old man.
You know it's only a game.
Should I ask a Pascal's Wager question just to cheer you up?

gee, these cristians are really starting to get to you, aren't they? try not to listen to them so much if they bug you. they are just doing what they think is best for you. they want to save you out of love and concern, not malice.

but, with that said, i agree with you 100%
Primoa prays for everyone. wouldn't it be funny though if he was actually a satanist pretending to be christian just to see if the true christians could tell the difference?

Christians are good at twisting things to suit their purposes, e.g. claiming that atheism and evolution are religions. That is lying, to be blunt. It is OK to lie to support their beliefs they maintain. I don't recall anyone's ever saying I believed in any gods...but it would hardly surprise me. I have heard many other ridiculous accusations from my sister who is a dumb Christian hypocrite.

Oh yea, they know context. They love to say out of context when you find a scripture that contradicts their opinions.

I think most people get it, or would get it if you really acted like you did not believe in God.

You don;t spend your time trying to disprove and arguing about something you don't believe exists that is just asinine.

If you truly don;t believe in God why are you wasting your time talking about God?

I don;t waste my time talking about unicorns or mermaids.

It is the "evangelizing" atheist people question.

As laughable as suggesting that I believe in the Easter Bunny (who, as a matter of fiction, will be visiting my empty house this Sunday while I'm away at the National Convention of American Atheists). ;-)

We evolved; they didn't.

Yet we still wear the same face they do.
Christians and non-christians can actually produce viable offspring together.... albeit seriously confused offspring.

They can't believe we aren't them.
We can't be sure how they aren't like us.

But I have essentially summed it up: We evolved; they didn't.

We do read, that's the problem.

NO ONE on a REPEATED BASIS has ever been able to cross the boundary between INORGANIC and ORGANIC CHEMSITRY using PURELY INORANIC elements.

It hasn't even happened by HUMAN INTELLEGENT DESIGN and don't give me that 1953 experiment, it's been falsified but never verified or repeated.

If a high school teacher can demonstrate it in the lab with test tubes, it's as far from Reality as God is!

Now, until you can find that missing link, you're in trouble.

Because ALL your side has is a LEAP OF FAITH

That means religion!
