Iran is a No win situation for the US. We would have to level the country but again we'd get terrorist from other countries that move in as they did in Iraq. And the climate in our country will not allow much military action either. So they can do and say most anything and get a way with it. As far as Israel goes I'm sure they could go in and do a wonderful job of it but as with the last conflict once again the US climate got in the way.

Of course not ! Unfortunately it is not military might that Iran will be counting on to defeat any action against it. It is the weakness of the American and other coalition nations democratic governments. They know that liberal anti-war dissent tends to run high in our societies. They know that our politicians are not actually leaders, but that they are slaves to the polls. Iran knows that our freedom of speech will serve as a primary mechanism used by these anti-war liberals and others to thwart any attempt by our governments to follow any course of aggression against them to completion. It is akin to a football team challenging another football team to a game, when the challenger knows that the other team will be forced to forfeit after the 3rd quarter because of their own unruly and disloyal fans. It is actually quite a shame. Militarily, under a significantly "different" form of government, the United States would be quite capable of picking up where the old Roman Empire left off, and actually succeed in bringing the industialized world under its umbrella of opportunity and justice. However, we will not see this in our lifetimes I fear. We dont yet have enough people that realize that the "great experiment" has failed. Imagine how quickly the world would calm down, and watch their step if the United States actually became the Imperial War Machine that it is accused of being.
Imagine if one day the United States pulled an "emperor Palpatine" move , like in Star Wars 3 Revenge of the Sith, and re-organized itself into a true "American Empire". I think half of the worlds war zones,particularly in the middle east, would scatter in all directions like cockroaches and a silence would fall over the world as we know it. You see everyone wants peace, but few are willing to pay for it. Yes, America and the coalition is by far, the most powerful military machine on the planet, but unfortunately the machine has a very tiny fuel tank.

I don't know about the military strength of Iran. It does seem ludicrous if you think that about the nations they are annoying, and trying to start wars with. But they must think they have a good chance in consideration of the events that are taking place right now. I don't know about their state of alliances, which is really the only thing that would be helpful in case of a war.

We don't need anyone else here America is the only Super power left. Just give our military commanders the go ahead and we will reduce them to dust. Allah will have alot of virgins to supply.

Iran's leaders are loons, but they have an upper hand. oil, if we go to war gas will hit $4 maybe $5 a gallon.

They don't have too....all the "wars" of late have not been conventional wars......more guerrilla warfare...Hard to fight an enemy that looks like everyone else....Short of killing every man, woman and child you can never "win" this type of war with military strength.....Best to find why they are against us and attack that problem!
