Thank you for a revealing question!
There is are two scriptures that show that when the wicked begin to suffer they start cursing God and King -- indeed much of that is seen.

I think you're misunderstanding a little. The statement we make is that IF God existed, wouldn't have happened. We don't actually blame God for bad things, because like you said, we don't feel that there's a God there TO be blamed.
I look around at this world and I see countless examples of things going on that I couldn't possibly imagine would be happening if God existed. I don't blame him for those things, because I don't feel that he's there in the first place; I'm just saying that there are certain things about this world that make an all-loving God very hard to believe.

You got the answer you asked for!! Why are you so surprised?
You propose that God has the power over good and evil. Since atheists and others do not believe in your God then they would not think good or bad came from something that does not exist. They therefore correctly assume that the people you refer to must be Christians and therefore their answer is correct!!!
If you expected any other sort of answer then you must work harder to make your question much more specific!!

I don't blame God, because I don't believe in it.
We atheists merely try to point out that when people praise a god for all the good things, it would make sense to also blame it for the bad things.

I said that if this being is omniscient, then it deserves blame for bad as well as praise for good.
Personally, I don't believe in God, just pointing out what should be obvious to a believer.

Techinically, if they don't BELIEVE IN God then they can't blame him, as he is non-existant. That would be like me saying my socks keep dissapearing because of that stupid little laundry unicorn.
My opinion is that people are just saying these things to be inflammatory. They are trying to make you angry. Don't let them. Believe what you want.

There are a few reasons, I would imagine.
Some on here would say it to cause problems, and some here, deep inside, really believe that there is a God.

i don't believe in God, i therefore don't blame it for anything. If something goes wrong i draw a logical conclusion. Was it my fault? If so i take steps to correct it. Or see that i learn from teh mistake. Not blame it on my imaginary freind...

They are answering as a *believer* would answer; it does not mean they believe.
I answer questions about things that are outside my belief system, but that I have knowledge or experience with.
I'm an atheist. I don't blame or credit god *anything*, there isn't one.

One can neither blame nor credit that which does not exist. To do so would be illogical.
