Shalom,
It's Not about "Religion" Jesus taught this time and again. The Pharisees were about "Religion"
'And Jesus said unto them, "Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees." {Matt. 16:6}
(Meaning to "Beware of the teaching of the Pharisees and Saducees" Matt. 16:12)
"You Must Be Born-Again"
What purpose did Jesus have in saying “you must be born again” to Nicodemus and thereby to all men? Jesus meant to say: “Nicodemus, you have religion, honor and power; but more is necessary. You must be born again.”
Therefore Jesus informed him of the new birth. It was as if He said, Nicodemus, your trouble is within. Your trouble is not cured by putting on a new front and living religiously. You must be brought into a new relationship with God. Your heart must be renewed. It is necessary that God again makes His dwelling place in your heart. The Holy Spirit must make you a new man and work a new nature in you.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart (Mt 22:37-40)
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

I do believe there is one right religion. So many religions and belief systems cannot ALL be right because they are vastly different and many have out right contradictions. I cannot believe a God will tell one people to do one thing and another people to do something completely different.
I am Christian. I believe Jesus is the only way. However, I believe that God is PERFECT in everything He does and decides. Therefore, it would be impossible for a perfect God to make a wrong decision. I trust He will do the right thing by all of us. It is not my place to tell someone they are going to hell, but I do talk about my faith openly and how it changed me and turned my life around.
But, suppose that when I die I go into the afterlife and find out I was wrong and...say.....the Muslims were right. Where does that place me? I do not believe Allah would say, "Welcome into my presence Dawn! Good to have you! You've lived your life and been so kind, generous and nice to everyone. Come on it to my presence!!"
Nope, I believe I would hear Allah say: "Dawn, you have rejected me your entire life. When my followers tried to share the Qu'ran with you...you listened, but didn't believe. Since you had no desire to follow me in life, you must not have any desire to be with me for eternity. Therefore, I shall give you what you desired...eternity without me.....in hell."
I think open rejection would keep someone from entering heaven. After all, why would they want to be there in the first place?

If a Christian "Blew himself up" then he desecrated the Holy Temple of GOD. We are told that the body is the Temple of GOD. What possible good could come of destroying the Temple? Our FATHER expects us to read, study, and obey HIS WORD and to reach and teach as many others as we possibly can (Matthew 28:18-21). This can not be done if we committ suicide. That would place us on Judas' level of existence, a traitor to our savior. Christ was never arrogant yet HE was GOD in the Flesh. HE could have called legions of angels to remove HIM from the Cross yet HE died for our sins on the Cross at Calvary. What more could HE have done for us? Have a great day and a wonderful week. Being a Christian means more than just becoming one. It means living a Christian Life every day that you are on earth and spreading the GOOD NEWS to others so that they too have an opportunity to be in Heaven with GOD and HIS SON.
Thanks,

There can only be one truth - one thing that corresponds to reality. That truth is that Jesus died for your sins so that you won't have to. THAT is what one must believe because it is the ONLY substitution God has given us. Forget about believing a certain religion. One needs to KNOW the Lord Jesus. That's a second birth. Our actions, no matter how good, won't get us to heaven either. We will receive rewards based on the quality of our actions, but getting to heaven is all about trusting in the salvation provided by Jesus. Nothing else can remove our sin - no one else even makes that promise.

I believe that God sees all Christian that do believe in him as the one and only God , are God's people. but he also says to live by his rules and do not sin.
if a Christian blew himself up that would be a sin, a very bad sin, one of the worst sin. because it also says in the Bible. to commit suicide you will never go into Heaven. for suicide is murder and that it is even worse to kill yourself then someone else.
you may think you are a believer. but that will do you no good if you break Gods rules. remember he put them in the Bible for a reason, and for us to live by. if we ignore his rules is the same as ignoring him and what he stands for there for you would not be considered a believer. because a believer will always live by Gods rules.
To decide what religion you wish is up to you, the best way to decide which you may like best, read the Bible and base what the bible tells you and compare what the Bible says to what the Church says. and you decide. all churches are based on the Bible. if the Bible tells you something that should be so. if the church says no, well that is up to you. but I can tell you, it also says in the Bible that no man shale tell another that he must go by that religion. it will also tell you that no person should ever argue about religion with another. so it is all free will, the choice is yours.
but what ever you decide, use the Bible as your guide. you will never go wrong.

Religion is a set of rules for one to follow to keep the outward self appear holy. It has little to do with the inner self. Understand what I am saying here - religions as a whole are flaky, but all that matters is your RELATIONSHIP with Christ. When someone accepts Christ and goes to heaven, they will be judged on their works, not to judge whether they can enter or not, but to best put their talents/works to use in the kingdom. Non believers will have a different judgement.

You have a great question, but you are on the wrong track. We will not be judged by our actions towards other people at all. That's a good thing, because that creates a scenario whereby the "better" we are means we go to heaven. It also gives us an entire arena uponwhich to judge ourselves and other people. That is not the point, nor is it the message of Christianity.
What we ARE judged on is our relaitonship with Christ. It's a one-on-one relationship with Him out of which our actions come. So, in other words, I'm no doing something "nice" because I like to be "nice" to you, but rather I'm doing it becasue my relationship which Christ teaches me that I am to respect other people.
So in your example, if a Christian blew himself up, will he go to heaven? I would say no simply on the foundational belief that it's not God's nature to tell people to serve Him by blowing themselves up. So rather than judging that person's action, I would not say they are demonstrating that they had a good relationship with Christ.
There is also a significant difference in "believing in" Christ and "believing" Christ. The first represents some foundational principal, the second represents a living relationship with a loving God.
See the difference? Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

I'm not sure exactly what your question is but as a Buddhist i beleive all actions have consequences (good and bad), refusing to belive in the consequences of your actions rarely dispells them. A noble life filled with love and kindness leads to a higher state after death (and a better rebirth after that) but a careless life focossed on personal gain at the expense of others or in which great harm is done to others leads to a hellish state after birth (and a lower rebirth after that). From what i have seen and heard this sentiment, if not the concept of rebirth, is akin to many major religions for example "thou shall not kill" and "Love thy nieghbor" (why would Gods encourage such behavior without punishing the opposite). No offence intended to Catholics but i do not agree with the idea of absolution, that you can commit any action and be absolved from its reaction simply through confesion, seems to me baseless and without proof (for now anyway)

Well, unfortunately there is only one way to heaven, and that is believing that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son to die for our sins. You must also believe he rose from the dead on the 3rd day.
To answer your first example, no, if a christian blew himself up he would not go to heaven. Yes, if you believe in the previous thing on here you CAN get into heaven. But you see, Jesus died on the cross so that our sins can be forgiven, he didnt forgive every sin you commit. The reason he wouldnt go to heaven is that blowing yourself up is considered suicide, which is considered murder. Thou Shalt not Murder is one of the ten comandments, thus that would be sin on you, but you cant ask for forgivness when your dead. So then you would go to hell.
I am sorry, buts its all the truth. I am not lying to you, look it up or ask a priest or pastor.(my prefrance is asking a pastor, but then again I'm a lutheran.)

Yes it is about actions. How we treat eachother and respect the earth. I feel the same way. I grew up in the church and learned a lot and took that with me into the world. I am now pagan and love all that I have learned. I have my own relationship with god/goddess. I really don't believe you have to go to church every sunday to cleanse your sins of the week to go out and sin again...doesn't work that way. You have to live your life right everyday..we all make mistakes, thats a human thing. But to learn from our mistakes and live life better because of it is priceless!!
