I see a recipe here for a fizzy version, personally I do not like it as much as the non fizzy version. We make and use this every year.
Ok a bottle of red wine, good orange juice.
Put 4 oz sugar in a pan and add enough watewr to cover it. heat it to melt the sugar and turn it into a sugar syrup. I never measure the water, but you do not want too much.
allow to cool.
In a large jug them mix the sugar syrup, red wine and orange juice. It should be half and half with the wine and juice. then finally you need a good slug of brandy! this is the secret ingredient that brings back up the alchol levels! I taste and adjust as necessary.
you can then serve with ice, or add fruit if you like too...orange slices or whatever else often in spain they add orange, lemon even apple pieces!
As I say we use this recipe every year and have used for parties etc too...so enjoy!!

you will need:
A bottle of cheap red wine
A similar quantity of lemonade
A glass of liquor (ideally brandy, whiskey or cointreau)
A peach
An apple
An orange
5-10oz of sugar
Cinnamon
1. Chop the fruit and soak in the liquor in the fridge overnight (optional). Any liquor will do (well, perhaps not vodka or gin). If you are worried about mixing your drinks, stick to grape-based beverages and choose brandy.
You can be adventurous with the fruit - kiwi is popular and I've seen banana used. But peach is always good - the flavor nicely infuses into the drink.
2. Red wine in Spain can be extremely cheap. When making sangria in Spain, I avoid the stuff that sells for 50c a carton (it gives a nasty headache), but a 1€ bottle is fine. In most other countries, the cheapest you can get is usually fine. You are adding so much to it that anyone more expensive would be a waste.
3. Pour the wine, liquor & fruit and lemonade into a punch bowl and add lots of ice. If you are preparing immediately before serving and you'd like it to stay slightly fizzy, pour the lemonade into the bowl first and pour the other ingredients in slowly.
4.Add half the sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Taste. If it doesn't taste sweet enough, add more sugar. You'd be surprised how much sugar is necessary.
5. Add ice and serve
Serve it ice cold for best taste.
Hope this helps!
