Always tell the truth. Did you know that you could be fired at any time if you falsify an application? Also, DWI is not a criminal offense.

DWI/DUI is a jailable offense, but does not make you a criminal. Don't confuse definitions or terms. All places of businesses do what is called a background check for security, and safety reasons. Be truthful. You sound like a responsible person. Your lies will eventually catch up with you. That's how a lot of criminals are caught. It's easier to remember the truth, than a lie. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.

You should tell the truth. Most companies will not disqualify you from employment for a 7 year old DWI. Chances are that the person interviewing you has had a DWI in his or her lifetime. It is just a fact of life today and if companies disqualified applicants solely on that basis, it would be very difficult to find qualified applicants. If it becomes an issue, just let them know that you regret that you did it, that you paid the price and that you have not done it since.

I think that you should be honest and tell them the truth. Other wise if they hire you and find out that you lied, they will fire you on the spot.
Most often people just want others to be honest, to know that they can trust the person that they are hiring. After all they know that people make mistakes, they know that people can change their lives and be a better person.
I say be honest, I think that it will be alright and you will still get the job. You must be up set and nervous as you just said that it happened 7 years ago in 2007, relax it will be alright. They can check your record from then to now and see that your doing fine.
Best wishes for a new job, I think it's going to be alright. God Bless you.

Tell them the truth. It will show up on a background check and prove you are lying, when you can easily tell them you were younger and made a bad decision that has never been repeated. Do not try to keep this quiet. If you had a drinking problem, tell them you've resolved it through AA or in-patient treatment or whatever. If you just made a bad choice on that one occasion, take responsibility for it. My company does background checks. We would not hesitate to hire someone with a 7 year old DWI. I would not hire someone who lied about it.

If I was you I would tell the truth , if they find out they might think what else is she lying about, and if she lied about a criminal conviction to get the job, if she made a serious mistake while in the job she would probably lie and cover that up as well.
It is very flattering to be headhunted, you must be doing an o.k job at work, don't let yourself down by lying it will probably come back and haunt you.
Good Luck.

If this happened in Canada, DWI is a criminal offence and your criminal record does not go away. If they check, they will find the conviction so it makes no sense to lie about it. It will be worse for you if they find out that you lied about it at the interview.

Tell the truth. You have paid your debt. If you don't get hired, count your blessings and move on. You wouldn't want to work for a company that discriminates. Everyone has a past.
It takes a strong person to admit ones mistakes, and good companies will overlook this to get someone with integrity.

Do not lie about it. They are asking to test your honesty as well as your credibility. Chances are they already know or will know. It is best that you be honest and forthcoming about it. Anybody can make a mistake but it takes someone special to own the responsibility for that and take full accountability for that mistake. Just explain it the way you did here. I am sure they are not without things like that in their own life. Best wishes on your job.

Might be good to come clean. Today its not that uncommon that people good people get DWI's. Then you may wish to twist it around and if your not hired due to only the DWI and your clean as you say maybe it would be better not to work for such a place that is so picky. The working conditions and environment may not be so pleasant to work around.
