dont worry what 'etiquette' says....this is your day!!! i would think your crazy not to have your closest people share the happiest day of your life w/ you. consult or husband see what he says about that many people. :)

First of all - its your wedding and you can do what ever you choose, but if you want my opinion, then yes I do think it seems a bit tacky. Having bridesmaids is supposed to be special and by having so many, your taking away from that. Also. keep in mind that the larger the wedding party is - the more you will fall in with the "crowd". The wedding party should be 3 -8 close family members and friends from each side (bridesmaids and groomsmen).
Either way it your wedding and you can have as many as you want, but I honestly would not recommend 13.
Best of luck :)

That is going to be such a long processional into and out of the church....folks will be really tired of looking for where YOU are in this line...I'd bet if you aren't paying for the dress, shoes and accessories you could easily find some people who would be thrilled to just attend the wedding and save the $$. It's a bit over the top.

Well that is quite a bit. I was at a wedding that had about that and they had different colors on and it kept going and going and I thought geez when is it ending.
But with 500 you will be in a big area I assume so it may not seem that bad.
Were only having 125 guests (the place cant fit anymore) and we have 7 on each side.
As long as you can make it not look drawn out then it should be fine.

With a guest list that big, this will look okay. It is a bit much, but I've seen bigger bridal parties for much smaller guest lists. I was once in a wedding where the bridal party had more people than there were guests in the pews.

We invited over 500 people to but we only had 7 on each and 2 jr's. Yours seems excessive.

It's a big wedding. No one is going to notice that extra person there. If you were having like 50 people at your wedding, it might seem a little overdone! But, I think you're fine.

It should be a big honor to be asked to be a part of someone's bridal party, and having that many attendants does seem to take some of that away, but you do what feels right to you.

you're southern aren't you?
I'm from GA and every wedding I've been in has had at least 10 attendants. I think it makes the bridal party feel less special... like "look! who's not in our wedding!!!"

You can do whatever makes you happy. Just make sure everyone has enough standing room.
500 people? Wow. You must have close relationships with a lot of people!
