Drinking that much coca cola is very dangerous for the kidneys. It also leads to rheumatoid arthritis. You need to be drinking water - nothing else can replace what it does for the body.

flavored waters are available if you find drinking water boring. I recommend normal purified water.

Coke, even if it is Diet Coke, has more calories than just water. It also has numerous other ingredients, including artificial sweetener which is not necessarily that good for you. According to Wikipedia,

"One version of Diet Coke (and majority of beverages
using artificial sweeteners) relies on Aspartame, which has
been blamed by some scientists and medical professionals
for possibly causing serious illnesses (such as brain
tumors, brain lesions, and lymphoma) when consumed in
large quantities. Other researchers have found no such link,
or believe that the quantities in sodas such as Diet Coke
are much too small to cause adverse effects. It should be
noted that Coca-Cola has now released Diet Coke
sweetened with sucralose (also known as Splenda)."

Setting aside the potential health issues of the artificial sweetener, there is still the issue of other ingredients, which include acids (phosphoric and citric) (which could cause problems for your digestive system), and caffeine (which has its own health risks).

On a purely anecdotal level (I don't have a source for this, and I'm not sure where to look, so take it with a grain of salt), I have heard that the various ingredients in soft drinks in general (both diet and non-diet) can actually cause your body to lose liquid rather than provide you with more.

It's really your call, but personally I would try to get my 1 to 2 liters of water from a variety of more healthy liquids, including water, rather than relying solely on a diet soft drink.

I am a pepsiholic have been for many years. Take it from me there are health risks. Caffiene dehydrates, if you are hot drinking caffiene is the worst thing you can do. Over the years you will develop things like swelling feet .There is a ton of salt in soda which can lead to high blood pressure and water retention, which can lead to not only high blood pressure but heart disease. It also leads to dehydrated skin. Not to mention the sugar which can lead to diabetes , and remember sugar turns to fat in the body. It can also effect your Kidneys. There really is no nutritional value to soda other than to pack on the pounds. I have been drinking the same amount of soda as you do for 30 years, I was as thin as a rail, well it has caught up with me now.

The one danger of drinking that much soda is the fact that it will erode your stomach lining and esophagus due to the acidic content of it.
