I felt really bad for Jimmie Johnson yesterday, and I *never* feel bad for Jimmie Johnson. There was Jeff Gordon, his teammate and car co-owner, clanging and banging into him! It went way beyond the typical Martinsville tap. Also, Gordon looked and sounded all pissy post-race, even though coming in second by one tenth of a second to a car you co-own is *not* a bad day. And he threatened Johnson ("It's going to be very interesting") and admitted that he is aggressive ("If it was anyone else, I'd have wrecked him.")
I hope he was called into the yellow trailer, and I hope he's locked out of the Chase.
Discuss. :-)

Hamlin was also disappointed not to win at a track that obviously means a lot to him, and he didn't fake-smile, but he didn't threaten others, either.

Yes, I too grow tired of whining and expectations of others to move out of the way and give up a win. It was clear Jimmie was faster exiting the turns. And, to me, it is not racing if you have to wreck someone to win a race.

Okay, right up front, I am NOT a Jeff Gordon fan. I root for Dale Jr. I put a die cast car of Jeff Gordon's and Jimmie Johnson's upside down on top of the T.V. before every race in hopes of jinxing them.
But, Jeff Gordon is not a bad driver or competitor. Actually, he's very good at what he does. And, if I had to grade his attitude, I'd actually say that he has finally grown his own attitude over the past season and a half. When he got out of his car and wanted a piece of Matt Kenseth last year, I thought I was going to die laughing. He should've done the same thing to Kevin Harvick after the road course disaster a few years ago.
As far as his banging into Jimmie Johnson, RUBBING IS RACING!! Every driver does it! And, in my opinion, Jeff Gordon is probably the best bump and run man there is. Truth be known. If it wasn't for the fact that he has respect for his team mates, he would have won at Martinsville and at Bristol. Lock him out of the Chase? No. If NASCAR is going to stick with the format, than it's only right to have the best drivers in it. Jeff Gordon has definately proven himself as one of the best. Time and time again.

Being a Gordon fan I totally disagree. I mean, This is Martinsville and he should have bumped Jimmie a little harder and moved him out of the way. Gordon had the faster car, and thats about the only way you're going to pass a car @ the end of a short track race when passing on the outside is impossible. Jeff had the faster car so do what you have to do to win the race. (IM NOT SAYING HE SHOULD HAVE WRECKED HIM EITHER) In Johnson's defense.. What was he suppose to do? Just pull over and let the 24 car go because he was faster w/ less than 10 laps to go? HECK NO! Johnson did the right thing by blocking down on Gordon to maintain position. Even though I am a diehard Gordon fan, He can complain and complain about the simplest BULLSHIT. I wish he wasn't like that, but thats just Jeff I guess. I think Johnson and Gordon did exactly what any other driver would have done that day if they were racing there teammate for a win. And as far as the bumping and banging not being right.. No one says SH*T when every other driver in the race is doing it to gain position on the track all day. I promise EVERY driver out there hit someone in the rear and passed them for position during Sundays race.... w/ the exception of Jeff Burton because he thinks the bumpers are just there to protect the cars chassis and help aero.

its called Racing, and both are great drivers its just that Jimmie Johnson is more of a man than cry baby Gordon..... He should just suck it up that the better driver won and there was no way he could get around that great 48 car before the checkered flag waved

Um...the reason Jeff was so "pissy" as you put it is because Jimmie was driving in a way that was forcing Jeff to wreck him to win. Jeff had the faster car, obviously or he wouldn't have been all over Jimmie's bumper, and passing a fast car on the outside is impossible at Martinsville. Jimmie knew this and kept his car on the bottom. But that's not the worst part. Jeff got below Jimmie's car twice in the turns and the first time Jimmie turned into Jeff forcing Jeff's car into the curb and killing his momentum. Second time was on the final turn coming to the checkered flag when Jimmie turned left into Jeff's car causing Jeff to lose momentum while racing to the flag. Jimmie even admitted to "turning left into Jeff". Both of these actions by Jimmie wouldn't be considered clean driving. The thing that makes it bad is that Jeff was driving as clean as possible. By Jeff bumping Jimmie was to show him that he's faster and he's holding Jeff up.
Now everybody knows that if that was Dale Jr. banging on Jimmie's bumper, everybody would have wanted Dale to spin Jimmie...and if he hadn't, then everybody would have been pissed off at Jimmie. But since it's Jeff Gordon, everybody wants to either call Jeff "pissy" or say he's whining or have something negative to say about it.
Jeff's right, if that's how Jimmie wants to race, then so be it. Jimmie set the rules and now Jeff knows what the rules are. And he's happy to play by them from now on. Nothing at all wrong with that!!!

This is kind of funny seeing when Dale Sr. did the same thing but worse sometimes wrecking someone in front of him, everyone thought it was great but now that Gordon does it, its not. The announcers talked about this in the closing laps when he did it first to Hamlin and tried to push but not wreck Jimmie. Dale Sr. always did this bumping them to let them know he was there and it was either get out of his way or be pushed outta the way, why he became known as the intimidator. The first to use that against him was Gordon and is why he took the reigns as the next great racer. You can go down the line of racers who did this, back as far as Waltrip, Cale, and Petty. Not to mention this is a short track at Martinsville where it happens all the time. We will see who is laughing at the end when the drive for five is complete.

If it was anyone but Johnson, Gordon would have crashed him to get the win. You could tell it was killing him after the race that he had to swallow that. I would say he finally wasn't a jerkface.

Due to personal experience, I knew that Gordon was a jerk many years ago. He may try to project the image of the All-American boy, but in reality is far from it. After seeing the way he treats people when the media is not around, I began to take great joy in every instance where he fails to achieve his goals. WAAAAHHHH!!!!!!

Little Jeffie is definitely acting like a spoiled brat. He has no right to be sullen and angry because it comes down to talent. Both Jeff and Jimmie said that #24 had a better car so it sounds to me that Jeff's talent wasn't there. He should be mad at himself for not being good enough. Between Vegas and Martinsville Jeff should get used to being second to Jimmie.

Couldn't disagree with you more.
1) If that was any other driver, except for Jimmy Johnson, Gordon would have forced him up the track or wrecked him in the process. Which is not uncommon for Martinsville and Bristol (see Dale Sr)
2) If that was any other driver behind Johnson other than Gordon, Johnson knows he would either have to let him pass or he would have gotten wrecked. Johnson took advantage of the fact that he knew Gordon was not going to wreck him.
I can't blame Gordon for being mad. It had to be very frustrating to be in the position he was in. He's gone 24 races w/o a victory, he's needs one more to tie Dale Sr and on top of that if not for the 24 team sharing it's set-up with the 48 team, doubtful Johnson would have been in that spot.
I respect Gordon more for being pissed and mad. It show he still wants to win. If he would came out of the car and said " Wow that was fun, what a great race" it would have been a line of b.s. and would only make him look like a complete fake that only cares about towing the Hendrick company line

Yeah, and what would prissy Jeffy have done if Jimmy (whom I don't like either) had done him that way or any other driver for that matter? Thats what kills me with Jeffy, if he does it, it's okay but if anyone else does him that way it's like all hell breaks loose! If Jimmy had bumped him the least little bit, what do ya think Jeffy would have said/done? He would have whined to the high heavens!
cannot stand little Jeffy!!!!!!!!!!!
