They are children.....let it go. Sounds like he found someone nice anyhow and as far as the friend....move on. This is alot of avoidable drama. Let her keep the gifts...why on earth would he make her think he cared by asking for them back?

You and your son will just have to ignore her. Next time she calls your son tell him to set her straight that he does not want to get back together with her and does not have feelings for her. He must be firm and control the conversation. But, do not bring up the other girl to her because if she as pyshco as she sounds she'll start picking fights with that girl too. I mean your son has apparently moved on and this girl hasn't. As for his best friend, your son needs to talk to him and be like "Ya know, I don't really appreciate that after all that she put me through you are now taking her side in all this crap." Prehaps your son's friend may like the crazy girl. If that be the case, have those to date and that'll solve the issue.

well, she might not win girlfriend of the year any time soon but a gift is a gift so she isn't under any obligation to return them.

Besides, if she really is that vindictive, you son may be better off to cut his losses and just move on with the new girlfriend. Give this chic a wide berth.

No, she dose not give the gifts back simply because they were gifts. As for the other problems, just continue to ignore, and avoid any contact. In time she souled get the message.

if you give a gift you shouldn't be expect to ever get it back, unless you live in a culture where it is normal to do so, which you most likely dont. i know its not fair. its just material stuff anyway. if you believe in karma, everything will turn out even in the end. that girl will probably have enough rough times in her life to punish her for whatever she did to your son. take comfort in that

This sounds a bit unreal. Perhaps it needs to be reported to another caseworker, documented with all your proof.
