It shouldn't matter what other people think of your tattoo. YOU are the one getting it, it's on your body, you are the one that's going to have it the rest of your life. The only thing that matters is what you think about it. I have a heart on the inside of my forearm with my gramma's name over it, and everyone that has seen it loves it. =]

Tattoos are avery personal thing. What other people think does not matter. Think about it. A heart means a lot to a lot of people. It is one of the most basic designs for a tattoo. So if you want a heart get a heart and I guarantee nobody will even wonder about it's meaning. But get the heart because that is what you want. Remember it's forever and you will be looking at it more than anybody. Especially on your right rist. I had a snake covered up on my right forearm because I was tired of looking at it. And I have 24 tattoos and that was the only one I couldn't stand.

It is natural and good to be concerned about how other people will react to your tattoos. For instance, it would definitely be a mistake to get any tattoo that might damage your chances of getting a job or offend people.
You will definitely be judged by your appearance at many times in your life, and people will include any tattoos they can see in their judgments of you. After all, more than hair or face, tattoos are a strong statement you are making about yourself. Don't make it if you don't want people to see it.
I think a heart on your wrist sounds quite sweet, but probably some people will think it looks gay. If you're uncomfortable with that, don't get the tattoo! And, if you're uncomfortable with people judging you on your appearance generally, tattoos may really not be a good idea for you anyway.

no, every tattoo should mean something special or significant to you alone. You are the one who will be branded for life. Having said that, really think hard about the longevity of a tattoo before you have it done. Will it still mean something to you in five or ten years time? Each time I have had a tattoo I have had the design and location picked out for at least a year before inking. I've also had designs that I've thought about for a long time but got tired of before having done. My oldest tattoo is six years old and i still love it as much as the day I got it. I've never regretted any of my tattoos and I hope i never will; and if someone else doesnt like them, I just say 'too bad'.

The quick answer: no. The reasoning behind it is that you are the one getting, it not them. And all of that "think about when you are 80" stuff bugs me. There will always be some people that wont like tattoos, expect some criticizing for anything. Does a heart have meaning to you? I am getting a Kanji for Dragon my my left wrist and I really don't care who says it's tacky and stupid. It's my body and has meaning to me. That's all that matters is if it's important to you. Happy tattooing!

You shoudlnt care as long as its something youve wanted for a long time and something that is very important and special to you.
I think that peoples biggest mistake with tattoo is getting something they saw on someone else and thought was cool. Because the truth is, you WILL regret it in 10, 20, 30 years.
My tattoos are both things that are important in my life and that mean something to me. Theyre also tatseful and not in places that everyone can see because I dont know how a tattooed 70 year old grandma would look, lol.
As far as what other people think, its YOUR body. You have to remember that it will be on your body for the rest of your life. So make sure that its important to you and thats it!
Good luck! :-)

No you shouldn't worry about what people think of you, I wouldn't think a heart on your wrist makes you gay. What I would worry about if I was you is if your job is going to allow a tattoo in that area. I hate watches and bracelts and all that so I wouldn't get a wrist tattoo because it would be extremely annoying to cover up in the future when I'm teaching Kindergarden.

It's your body and you should get what you want and what makes you happy. If we all worried about what everyone else thought we'd all be clones walking, talking, dressing and acting the same. Heart tattoo's are really common so i think you should design your own heart tattoo. Here are some heart tattoo designs to give you a idea http://www.bmeink.com/heart001.html

well r u gay and does it matter what other people think? i have a tattoo on my lower back and it hurt like heck near the spine. i say it will hurt on your wrist because there isn't usually a lot of fat there. the more fat an area has the less it will hurt. why a heart? make your decision carefully on what to get and where to get it at. some jobs won't let you have a tattoo that people can see. don't get one that is offensive to any group of people. good luck!

You shouldn't actually worry about other peoples' thoughts. If you are happy with it, go for it.
Alternatively, you can get it in a place where it won't be noticeable. Maybe near where you wear a watch, or on the inner part of your wrist.
Lastly you could go for a heart with some other kind of design weaved around it (like a snake or vines) to macho it up a bit
