Yes, you owe him a pleasant conversation over dinner, good manners, and at the end of the evening, a gracious "Thank you so much, it's really been a nice evening. Maybe we could go to the theater / movies / game next Saturday. But you must let me get the tickets."

Not at all. He needs to give you more then a fancy meal to win you over in a relationship. You deserve to be spoilt and you shouldnt feel like you owe anyone. Its is his decision to go to the restaurant, he wouldnt take you there is he couldnt afford it. If you like, pay half. That way its a even keel.

You don't owe the guy anything but perhaps a word of thanks for a nice time if you enjoyed it.
Lot's of guys think that if they wine and dine a lady they should get something in return. I don't think that is right and have never expected anything period from a lady I take out on the town for dinner and whatever else we do.

Yep you owe him two things. The pleasure of your company while at dinner {not sex} and a "thank you" beyond that you owe him nothing and if he thinks you do or hints at the fact you do he's a loser

Definitely Yes. You owe him a "Thank you for Dinner"!

I would say the most you 'owe' him is a "thank you". If dinner is bought with the expectation of more, then you don't need the guy. Thats cheap and sleezy.

the only thing you would owe him is your company. Maybe good conversation.

by taking you to an expensive resturant, he is trying to show off.

But you don't "owe" him anything.

Unfortunately, lots of guys think it does.

The only thing you could owe him is a dinner. (your treat)

You don't owe anything, but it's fair if you offer to pay the next time.
