The bottom of the back is very painful, turst me, i've been there. If this is your first tatoo, get it somewhere abit fattier such as your arm or leg.
And, don't ask people on here what you should get. Remember, its with you for life not them so it needs to be something you really want. Think about that design only for 6 months to know you definately want it before taking the plunge. I have a celtic design on my shoulder with a father's name running through it.

Don't get a tattoo unless you're absolutely sure you know what you want. I made the mistake of going and flipping through the little tattoo book at the shop and picking the same one as so many others. In my opinion tattoos should be about originality. I learned that lesson a little too late! Just be careful, because 5 years from now you might wish things were a little different. Also, research your tattoo artist. Most have portfolios.

A tattoo will be with you for the rest of your life, so you need to put a lot of thought into this.
You need to think about why you want the tattoo. Because it's popular? Because your best friend got one? Because some celebrity has one? These aren't good reasons...
You don't want something that's trendy, or something some stranger on Y!A suggests...you need to do some soul searching and find something that is very meaningful to you, or a symbol of that which has meaning to you.
Is there something so meaningful to you that you want to brand your body with for the rest of your life? If so, great! Get that tattoo!
If not, you need to seriously re-think your decision to get a tattoo and wait until you would do it for the right reasons...

Please don't take this as being meant to hurt you for asking but you should not be getting one if you don't know what you want and why. Tattoos are permanent and should have meaning to you and you alone. Don't worry about what other people think would be cute or what you should get on your body for life unless you have it removed. Seriously, piercings can be removed so I say experiment away if you want to spend the money and take the chance on not having it later. Tattoos should take until you are dead set about the design and meaning before you even talk to a tattoo artist. What means the most to you? Do you have a child or have you lost a loved on that you looked up to? Think about what you want to remember not only in memory but on your body. Take your time and be prepared for haters to be rude about even wanting one. Tattoos are special, so treat it like your life depends on it!

I certainly have Phil Ochs tattooed on my arm (human beings singer) I even have "not at all Die" and a rose tattooed throughout the time of my feet, with a tigerbat above the feet on my left foot for Tiger military. I see me getting a pair greater musician tattoos. I certainly have an Ochs lyric tattoed around the lower back of my neck (Sacred are the scars) and an Op Ivy lyric around the insides of the two hands (that is appropriate i might say... i would not have it any opposite direction.) i'm questioning a pair of warm-rod lifestyle tat, skulls and roses and a banner, gotta %. the lyric to bypass in the banner nevertheless. because it stands on the instant, i might in all risk choose "In loss of life as in life, i'm going to arise" or "My experience of right and incorrect includes the load of blood."

Well since a tattoo is forever I don't think that i'ma get but one.and it's not gonna be hearts and butterflies and roses. I'm full blooded Native American and my tribe Is the Lumbee. Since i will always be a Lumbee and that will never change I'm get Lumbee tattooed on my arm with a set of feathers. I think a tattoo should have a lot of thought put into it. Since you may regret your choice in the future. living in the moment isn't always the best decsion. that's why i chose my tribe name isn't of something trendy. You may have a symbol special to you or something you are proud of and that's what i think you should base it on.

I think if you're getting a tattoo it is up 2 you what you should get because you're the one who is gonna have to live with it for the rest of your life.
I know someone who has a tattoo at the base of their back, its just a pattern/design it looks like a symbol for something but I don't think it means anything. It looks really good.

I wanted a playboy bunny on the bottom of my back, but why would you ask strangers what tattoo you should get?? having someone elses idea tattooed on you for the rest of your life?? if you really want one then it has to be something you want not some elses idea!! sounds to me like you shouldnt get one if your not sure what you want youll only go off the design!!

Go to your local tattoo shop and give them a few ideas of things you like and you'll be shocked at how fast they will draw up something you love. Be different don't just pick a design that has been do a 1000 times before.
