What does this have to do with religion and spiruality??
They leave the room out of respect for the privacy of the patient. Doctors are professionals.

Those I visit don't. One has a sort of partition behind which you can go to change if you want. It's optional and I never use it. Some people might find it more comfortable.

Not everyone is comfortable changing in front of other people; it meant to give you privacy in the process of changing.
Being examined by a professional is one thing; to some people, stripping in front of one is another.
Cheers.

I would hope out of profesionism. Who would want to go back to a doctor that doesn't have that kind of respect?

To me there's more vulnerability in getting undressed than there is in being naked.
