If she is *literally* thinking that she's being poisoned, then your mother in law is mentally ill with paranoid schizophrenia (but you would know that by her other crazy behavior and delusions).
If you mean she turns up her nose or criticizes your food or just picks at it, then she's just being rude and it's up to you whether to stop serving her food, or letting her bring her own or cook her own when she visits. Or drop the whole thing and insist that the family orders take-out food when she visits since she hates yours.

You are most likely dealing with a paranoid person here... is she afraid that other people are poisoning her as well? If so you have a paranoid schizophrenic most likely. Its not your job to get her psychaitric help and logic probably wont work either. Showing her how you are cooking it, the fact that your spouse and you are eating it too... if she still thinks you are poisoning her, then you could ask her, why do you still eat it then?
It's very odd behavior, but don't try to defend youself too much, you can simply stop cooking for her. I would also wonder how she reacted to you before you married her child? Did she like you, treat you like one of the family? It could be that deep down she is afraid you want her out of the picture and acts that fear out through fear of you poisoning her... and maybe she just doesn't like the taste of the food you give her.
Its hard to not take offense at these odd statements, and I would ask your spouse about how their mother has been with othes cooking her food besides you... that will give you some insight into how serious her concern is here. Good luck!

Have you ever tried to reason with her her your spouse.
Tell your spouse to change plates with her and offer yours afterwards, see you can't poison two plates even if you're playing games with her, one person besides your ma-in-law has to die in that case or simply keep all the plates in front of her and tell her to choose the one she feels is okay. That way if one plate is poisoned everybody has an equal chance of dying.
If nothing else works take her to a psycho and hope everything goes right.

Tell her Nonsense! You would never think to give her poisonous food. Then call her Snow White and offer her an apple with a sly grin on your face.

I say force feed her and then tell her that the secret ingredient is Mandragora or Henbane. And then ask her if she feels tired. LOL Aww I am loving this question. No but for real I would just tell her to get a life and if she does not think you cook good enough for her baby then she can go to McDonalds for dinner.

Eat with her. Don't put the food in separate plates. Put it in one dish for each course and everyone take food from there to their plate. Including you. Then when she sees no one is dropping dead like flies. maybe she'll change her mind.
Or simply tell her "This one is if you want a quick death. This one is if you want a dramatic death. I don't remember what I put in this one..I think rat poison. Which would you like first?"
Hopefully she'd get the point.

try to laugh it off. Ask her if she wants to trade plates. Serve the food in common bowls, so everyone has to eat the same thing, like soup for instance.
she may be joking with you too. Kinda weird sense of humor, though.
