While loading some furniture into my jeep, i hit the phono cables and snapped off the centre pins in the sockets. they are stuck firmly.
Anyone any suggestions on how to get them out?

Just as an addition, the pins are solid, not hollow, and there is no way of pulling them out with pliers.

DO NOT solder anything to anything!!!

The only real way to do this is to take the unit apart and push them out from the inside. This may be a lot easier said than done especially if the RCA jacks are enclosed on the inside.

You may wind up just replacing the jacks altogether.

I assume the connections are in the Jeep - or are they on the furniture/stereo?

If Jeep - the dealer may have to pull the dashboard
If Stereo - you may be able to do it - but taking a few screws out - removing the case - and push that puppy out

or - Take it to Radio Shack or Best Buy for an estimate

best of luck

It doesn't matter if they are solid, get a pliers with a good grip able to hold firmly the pins a pull'em out, otherwise open the amp CAREFULLY and push it out.

You probably need to remove the amp from the vehicle and remove the heatsink. Once you have access to the inside of the amp, use a pick tool to push the broken center pin out.

take a piece of metal coat hanger and get solder and solder the coat hanger VERY CAREFULLY to each pin wait for the solder to dry and the pull the pin out. be careful not to melt the amp though. just watch wut ur doin and it should work.
