When I was a child I livedin a 16.000 sq foot mansion with 12 bedroom, a ball room, a five room kitchen complex, servents quarters, an elevator from the ball room to the master suite, etc. The first coupld of years were great, the last was witout food, heat, water, electricity. Etc. Still have all that room, however.
I think it had a strong effect on my phychology, but I don't know about my spirituality. The thing that affeceted that was concurrently learning the history of the church. Once I learned that hisotry, I gave up on reliigon.

Kind of, when I was 18 I left my parents home because I got tired of their ways. I had a job but it didn't pay all that much and I shared an apartment with others. Alot of the times there was nothing to eat, but top ramen. Many times I wondered one month to the next if I was even going to have a home. I was not saved at the time and my spirituality was bad. I often use to wonder why I had such bad luck and why I couldn't have come from a good rich family with nice parents. Within a few years, I got married and times got better, I thought. My husband at the time was a drug dealer and I left him after 7 years. I am now married to a good Christian man and I now know the truth today and that money cannot buy happiness and love. Now that I am saved, I feel more fulfilled than ever and if I had to live like I did when I was 18 again, I honestly could do it knowing I am saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.

I have experienced hunger. I had a small apartment and a very small saving account, just enough to pay for my rent, and basics, and not enough for food each month. I was having a hard time getting a job, it was hard to put food on the table.

It didn't hurt my spirituality at all, I knew that God was with me and that he would provide for me, after all I wasn't out on the street. So I was still doing well.

It didn't take too long and I finally found a job and every thing was back to normal again. It isn't fun to be hungry, but I think it would be worse to not have faith. Faith can get you through so many things in life that can happen to you. It can move mountains and turn your entire world around.

This is just the way that I feel and no more, as I'm not attempting to make any one believe or not.

I experienced homelessness and hunger as a Christian. It was the Lord's will. He did not put me in that situation so I could struggle, but to teach me how to rely on Him completely.
The whole ordeal made me stronger and taught me no matter how low to go in life, God will be there with you. For instance, I remember sleeping under a bridge with other homeless people. It smelled bad because of the urine. People were doing drugs all around me. They would walk over your head and feet while you were trying to sleep. But the most incredible thing about this was when I would go that spot to sleep, the Holy Spirit would come upon me. It felt so good and awesome. The only way I could describe it was it felt like making love to a woman. It was very intimate. So when I got up in the morning, all I thought about was God and coming back to that stinky, drug infested, spot because I knew God was going to meet me there. And He met me there every night until He moved me on. But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you like that, it overshadows everything else going bad in your life.

It increased my faith because a person helped me and said that the Holy Spirit had said "this is a man worth saving."

It taught me to trust in God but that I was to do all in my own power to earn my own way. God helps those who try to help themselves. His Holy Word says that a man that will not work does not deserve to eat.
