Gideon International, the organization that distributes the King James version of the Bible to hotel rooms across the country and throughout the world.

The organization was first founded in 1899, and have since expanded to 172 countries around the world. There are Gideons everywhere, distributing 45,000,000 Scriptures worldwide annually. That's 86 Bibles a minute.

Gideon International pays an average of $4.75 per Bible and distributes them for free. They are able to do this through donations and offerings from churches.

They also annually check all the hotel rooms they placed Bibles in so they can replace the soiled and tattered ones.

Their thinking is that's where people need them most.

Most hotels supply a ' Gideon' Bible, having only the New Testament.
But to really understand God's word, the complete Bible is necessary.
Even Jesus quoted the story of Noah.
