From what I can tell the only difference is they have a different sticker on their car. I thought each owner builds its own engine. I could be wrong. Help me out!

I thought each owner built his/her own engine and car. So what does Chevy, Ford, etc. really have to do with the make-up of the race car.

In the COT, the only difference is the engine. All the bodies are identical and only the decals are different. All cars use the same templates.

In the regular car, there are a few slight differences. The engine, again. Plus, most obviously is the nose. Dodge has more of a blunt nose. They did change it this year to be more like Chevy's, but it is still more blunt. If you go back and look at a picture of a car from last year (from the side) it is obvious! Each manufacturer has a separate set of templates they have to fit. But, as I said, the nose is the easily visible difference.

The bodies are basically the same, except different configurations with the nose air openings to somewhat match Chevy, ford, and dodges "street" car styles. The engines are also different, but they're all V-8 that create about the same horsepower.

They all come from the same roll of sheet metal.
NASCAR is looking like some of the cars driven in the American Lemans series. The only way to tell one from the other is the decal for Chevy,Dodge,Ford to Toyota.
Look at a Fusion in the showroom or a charger or monte Carlo. What runs on Sunday does not look like any of these,.Wait the "bow tie-blue oval-or rams head "does.
Get the sheet metal from the fractory.
Get stock back into stock car.
That's all I have to say about that.

With the COT being used they are the same. In two weeks when they go to Texas, they will go back to the old cars and they will be build differently. It will take time for the COT to work out the kinks, but if it is safer for the drivers then it will be better for the sport. I know lots of people that don't like the new car, but I think it is worth it if it cuts down on deaths and injuries. With change, there is resistants. Give it time people

in the "car of today" the bodies do have different shapes but in the "car of tomorrow" they are pretty much the same. The only difference is the engine's. They put names on them because they get money and help from that company.

in today's car the front ends are the big defference and i would say that chevy has the best one.

Put it this way--Gordon's Chevy has much more in common with Kahne's Dodge than it does with *your* Chevy. I really wish they'd remember the "stock car" bit in the National Assocation of Stock Car Auto Racing.

If you'll pay closer attention to the cars, you'll definately notice the difference. And, yes, there is a difference in the manufacturers. If you don't believe me, look at Jeff Burton and Mark Martin. Both drivers drove Fords for years, and both were pretty successful. But, now that they are in Chevy's, they are smoking hot. Mark Martin could actually wint the title that has alluded him for so many years if he would drive a full schedule in a Chevy this year. But, that would probably hurt his Ford dealership.

Chevy's Rule!!
