Christians and Atheists, present your best arguments for the OTHER position. (i.e., if you are Christian, what is the best argument AGAINST god's existence? ...if you are Atheist, what is the best argument FOR god's existence?)

No embedded counterarguments! This should be tough for everyone.

Most convincing case wins... Good luck. :)

Oh well, at least both of them are good. Thanks!

I'm going to re-list the question to see if I can get more answers -- the server had a glitch the first time and didn't post new questions for a half-hour...

Well, since I'm a Christian, I guess I'm arguing AGAINST the existence of God. Okay, I'll try.
1. The existence of other planets. If God is so perfect, and everything He created was perfect, then why were other planets created? They serve no purpose, they can't sustain life, they're just THERE.
2. The fall of "Satan." This concept has never made sense to me. WHY would Satan go against an all-powerful being? And why would God create a creature that WOULD go against Him? Supposedly the difference between angels and humans is that humans have free will. Why and how, then, did Satan CHOOSE to rebel?

That's all I've got. Unfortunately for me (or fortunately, whichever way you want to look at it), most of the questions I DID have were answered.

I am an atheist, so I will argue FOR the existence of God.
----------
I have a feeling that something higher than me exists. I understand that there is a thing called "confirmation bias," but it is hard to ignore those feelings that justify my belief in my god.

I also see so much love and beauty in the world. The pain and suffering only helps us to appreciate the good in the world.

I also can't imagine a world without my god. It's not a world I would want to live in!

I also see hard evidence that the less pirates that exist, the more global warming increases.

So all praise His Noodly Appendage, Flying Spaghetti Monster!!

I am an atheist.
Well, there are many things on this earth that we cannot explain scientfically. Which is why we label those incidences as extraordinary, and Christians label them as miracles or "Acts of God".
We still only have theories as of yet, regarding the creation of the universe and man. So, God is still a possibility, I suppose.
That's about all I've got. Kudos to the christian chick's answer.
