Many believe that baptizing a child when they are an infant doesn't do any good, and that you have to consciously make the decision to be baptized and understand what it means. Even if you were an avid church-goer as you say and your parents baptized you and you went to sunday school and all of that, it doesn't mean that you truly accepted Christ into your heart. So what happened? Did you turn away from Jesus? If you did, then he is trying to pull you back by bringing you to this section on Yahooanswers. If not, then maybe you should consider a new commitment to Him.

For some reason for me it exchange into vacationing great distances on my own (as a effect a transatlantic flight). I saved thinking what IF something happens to me on an identical time as so far away. What if i'm getting sick and there is purely strangers around me?! stupid, i understand! yet I had by no capacity carried out that earlier, as I had continually travelled with a extra physically powerful half, acquaintances or kinfolk, and the assumption of being thoroughly on my own looked particularly frightening to me, yet when I did it I realised that it exchange into no longer undesirable in any respect, and felt particularly risk-free! i'm happy i desperate to be brave, and enable a desire, love and a feeling of journey take me there and set me loose from that previous concern. of direction being greeted with an exquisite face and a heat smile or 2 upon arrival truthfully helped ;-) yet that exchange into after an 8 hour adventure all on my own. different than that, i'm no longer frightened via lots. on a daily basis we come across unknowns, one way or yet another. I refuse to stay my existence in concern, and if something else have been to frighten me, i could make it a project to triumph over that concern besides.

I'm sure it was frightening for you, because you probably were afraid of how your life might be different once you got baptized. A kid needs to know the full meaning and commitment of baptism before they are baptized , and that goes for adults as well.

Maybe you just have a problem with water, I dunno. But don't let it throw you. Baptism is just like going to the pool. Only when you do it as a believer you are having a spiritual experience as well as a bath. I was baptized as an infant and decided to do it as an adult. When I go to Israel, I just might get baptized in the Jordan River like Jesus Himself.

I find it curious. First I wonder why a neighbor would have occasion to hint about your being baptized. Then I wonder if you had any reason to be afraid of this person, sometimes intuition tells you something that you may not be aware of. And of course if you didn't want to be baptized I hope that no one made you do it.

The flesh is always against the spirit. At age 8, it becomes more real to you and you become more responsible. Accepting the responsibility of developing into not only an adult but a Christian adult should not be taken lightly. I believe that is why God wants us to be baptized, an outward confirmation of our inward obedience.

Frightening! You must be a child of the Devil! No one else would go berserk like that just because of the tought of being poured or soaked in holy baptismal water...

I find it strange. What is frightening about baptism? The underlying religion may be nonsense, but there is nothing particularly daunting about a baptismal rite.

Neither. There is often a lot of pressure centered around the ritual of baptism. I'd say it was that or just coincidence.

neither funny nor frightening. if you didn't want to be baptized when he hinted that to you then that explain why, but if you had no reason then your body was just fooling around with you.
