I just got out of boot camp 6 weeks ago, so I can give you a pretty good idea. Your first night(s) will be terrible. The night I got there, inprocessing lasted all the way through the night and into the next day. They finally let you sleep the next night at 2200. You'll be placed in a division of about 80 with three RDC's (Recruit Division Commanders). Be warned, they will ask you if you have any marching or band or rifle experience. The correct answer to that question is "no". They screen people with those questions to put them in 900 divisions, or divisions that perform at graduation. You'll get assigned jobs in your division, from Recruit Chief Petty Officer (RPOC) to someone who cleans the head (bathroom) everyday, for a good portion of the day. I suggest showing ambition to get one of the more leadership jobs, before you get stuck with something crappy. You'll learn that your RDC's jobs are to mess your heads. You'll get in trouble for thinking. You'll get in trouble for not thinking. The safe bet for your first 3 or 4 weeks is to keep your mouth shut unless you are being asked a question by someone in charge of you. You'll learn how to exactly fold every article of clothing issued, and you'll be able to get dressed and undressed in a matter of 2 minutes. You and 79 other recruits will get in and out of the shower in less than 15 minutes, and have it shining clean in another ten. You'll have 12 minutes to eat your food 3 times a day. And if you talk in the Galley, you can expect to be punished. Punishment consists of squats, 8-counts, jumping jacks, sit-ups, leg-lifts, and whatever other cruel things they think of. They will sometimes "beat" you for up to 2 or more hours. On the bright side of boot camp, you will get pistol qualified, and participate in fire-fighting. You will go through the gas chamber (which is pretty whimpy), and you'll finish boot camp with Battle Stations, and all-night event of different exercises. The key thing to surviving boot camp, is not letting them break you down. It's about 9 weeks, and if you can get up every day and take it one day at a time, and do what you're told, when you're told, you'll make it through.

You learn the definition of "hurry up and wait. "
You learn "there are 3 ways of doing something, the right way , the wrong way and the Navy way."
Like astronomy? You'll love getting up at 5AM to see the sun rise.
New adventures in dining. SOS at 6AM. Yummmm!!!
You learn team work. Help each other out because if one screws off, you all pay.
You'll see there are 2 sizes of clothing, "You'll lose weight, or,"you'll grow into it."
Your past means nothing. I've seen HS dropouts and Harvard grads become good friends.
You'll never make it without a sense of humor ,
Millions before you have made it, so, be tough.
And when they have graduation cermonies, you'll really feel great about yourself, perhaps more than any other time in your life.
Good luck. .

Oh navy boot camp is cool. Basically all you do is sit around and smoke weed and play video games, eat cheetos. The drill instructors are all really nice so you can pretty much get away with anything. Oh isht take your xbox or ps3 or whatever because I cant tell you how I was wishing someone had one while my class went through boot.

Same as boot camp in all the other branches. Expect the cadre to play mind games with you, and harass you every chance they get.

A lot of running. My Dad said he had to learn to make a flotation device out of his underwear. That was in 1964.
