It's very difficult to find a movie or TV show now a days with no profanity, violence, or sexual content (sometimes nudity) in it? What do you think about this and how do you filter your viewing? What kind of movies and TV shows do you watch and why? What do you think about this biblically?

We certainly shouldn't be offended by violence, sexual content or profanity (Ps.119:165) but I do beleive that we should be wise with our choices of movies and TV, especially if we have children that can't discern real vs hollywood. Garbage in, garbage out. I believe the Lord is calling us to protect our hearts and minds and renew the way we think, and some tv shows and movies aren't very conducive to this.

Not much TV..Mostly videos where I can control the content that I see. On regular TV there are things that I just don't want them putting in my mind so I don't turn it on very often.
Too much porn & negative stuff on TV.
Biblically I want to renew my mind in the word and keep myself pure in this world.
I am just very tired of them trying to sell me some product using sex as a motive instead of need or quality of the product..

I think it's all back to what your conscience says... And it's all about discernment. You judge what you should watch, and you shouldn't watch. I follow news most of the times, so I watch Fox News and some shows in CNN. I watch some christian program from national network, since I don't get TBN.
Time to time I watch 24, since the violence there is against terrorism, or cooking show at food channel .. But that's pretty much it. For my daughter, I just buy DVD like Veggie Tales or biblical movies.
Sometimes TV can be a good thing, but most of the time it can give more damaged to unsaved world. So, it's up to you to decide. Christian.. we're in the world not off the world.

I don't own a television and I don't usually watch movies unless I am convinced in my conscience that they can be edifying . I am not averse to historically accurate portrayals of violence, generally. I do not like gratuitous violence, or the glorifying of illegalitly, disobedicne to parents, rebellion for rebellions sake, criminals who are portrayed as cool, nor sexual privacy, or sexual propoganda. I despise it brother and think that all Christians would be better off without it. I have seen a clear difference between kids raised with TV and those without it. You will see how the mind blooms without it. I really wish there were more Christians who were willing to make such a small sacrifice and get their spirits in order.
The point that some do not get is that even though we live in a world full of things that God disapproves of and for which the wrath of God is to come upon those who practice such things, Christians should not take pleasure in watching those poratryed especially when they have a choice in the matter, unlike things in the world.
Romans 1
" 32 They know that God's law says that people who live in this way deserve death. Yet, not only do they continue to do these very things, but they even approve of others who do them. "

G rated movies can be just as evil as R rated movies for those that are young. I remember watching the Panda Movie, there was a certain nudity scene that prompted young children to be curious about the nakedness of the opposite sex, which would produce more curiosity and sexual deviancy.
The movie of the invisible man with chevy chase was a great movie without all the cuss words and edited for common public veiwing but with its R rating was lacking in moral support.
I have watched every type of movie, and the best movies are those that have adventure, however, some rated R movies should be Nc17
some rated R movies are better quality than G rated.
it all depends on the director and producer!
George Lucas produced good action adventure movies and was close to keeping morality within his editing.
I liked all the star wars episodes, they seemed to be clean enough to pass the judgments of God

We have cable, don't know why. Over 400 channels to watch yet I usually can't find anything to watch! When I do watch, usually it is the History Channel or TBN and a few other religious type channels. There are a few descent shows to watch that are not terribly over sexed and over violent. There isn't very much to watch anymore on TV. I notice that a lot of supernatural type shows are on. These, to me, are all Satans channels. King of the Hill is okay and sometimes the Simpsons, sometimes it is a bit to risky though. I surf the internet more than I watch TV. I also like to read as well.

We have Satellite TV. Everything is blocked except G rated shows and then, we tell the grandchildren that we must OK them first. The teenage grandson is allowed to watch some R rated movies if approved by their parents or us. Such as war movies and movies like Terminator. He is allowed more than the 2,3, 6 and 10 year olds are.
My husband and I do watch some HBO special shows. We mostly watch shows like Discovery Channel, Christian Channels, HGTV and regular movies. Many are rated "R" but, if one is too vulgar with language and nudity, we turn them off because they disgust us. We are able to watch some movies, for the story content rather than the nudity or profanity if there is not too much. Children and teenagers are not able to do this.
I do know that many of the people who are acting in these movies are not concerned with The welfare or morals of children. Only the money and fame. God tells us in His word, that this is what the natural man is about.

I'll watch anything except porn. I don't like the Jackass TV show on MTV cuz I just think thsoe guys are idiots and it's stupid that they get money for that stuff. I don't like nudity in films but if a breast is shown for a moment or a bare butt as someone steps into a shower, that's brief and I don't mind. But I don't like movie that are based on sex. I like the old classics. I like historical, biographicals, musicals, comedies, adventure, sci-fi, suspense, and good horror. I just rented Saw this Friday for the first time. I was glad it wasn't the typical stupid big breasted blonde that goes into the basement with just a flashlight movie. It was full of suspense and I was thinking the whole time who was good and bad and figuring out the riddles from Jigsaw. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't keep my eyes off the TV. I rented Saw II Sat. night. I'm getting Saw III this week. I don't like the F word but I can definitely understand that in certain circumstances the F word would be usable. If that stuff happened to me, I would find myself swearing at times.
I watch things for either education or entertainment. I can decipher between the two. Saw II will never make me go insane and become a serial killer or torture people. If something tempts you into doing something sinful, then you should watch it or listen to it.

I watch a very few shows on PBS and almost no network TV. I watch a few movies, usually foreign or older movies (classics). The best thing of all would be to stay away from TV and movies entirely as they are mostly propaganda.
