Are people on here ignorant of other countries cultures?

It sure seems that way. I keep hearing people say that having sex with other women when a man is married is condoned in Mexico. Well I am a Mexican and I can tell you it is not. It is seen as disgraceful and the wife will most likely divorce or get separated from him. Before you make assumptions about a culture, know it first, if you don't, KEEP YOUR F'ING MOUTH SHUT!!!

No wonder other countries hate this nation.

I never said i hated or disliked "america" (really the united states, america is a continent) but i do dislike the current government and the people in charge of them (the corporations). A lot of people have no idea what life is like in Mexico, they just spout off opinions based on what they hear on Lou Dobbs. I have lived mostly in the united states, so i know what this culture or lack of culture is.

Yes, people are ignorant of other cultures because they don't travel, don't read books or don't interact with foreigners.

Yes they are, but then again this is America and everybody is from different places so the first experience they have with a certain person from a specific race, they assume every other peson is like that as well. I completely agree with you but hey we're the scapegoats right now and everybody is blaming Mexicans and undocumented (because they believe they are the epitomy of each other) for everything. It is their way of 'getting back'. I've seen other ignorant questions like that such as why we throw our toilet paper on the floor? What the heck? Yeah, just ignore them, don't lower down to their level. And they will always have the same response 'If you don't like it, get out of here.' Which is exactly what I am going to do. I'm not generalizing all Americans though and you aren't either so some of these answers don't make sense. Well keep your head up!

So since you are making an assumption about Americans, does that qualify you to keep your f#ing mouth shut? I would say that the majority of Americans don't believe that its alright with the women in Mexico to have their husbands cheat on them. Your statement is the same as what you are condemning. Broad generalizations don't work in either direction. As far as why other countries hate us, I would say it goes a little bit deeper than cultural misunderstandings. Of course the countries that make a habit of hating us are also dependant on our aid whether economic or military. Maybe other countries don't hate us as much as you do.

America`s culture is "total and absolute freedom". Most countries in the world fall short of this culture to varying degrees.
Liberty is misunderstood for permissiveness by some foreign tourists and fresh immigrants
Some Americans of course have superiority complex and racial prejudice. But such people are in an ineffective minority.

Yo Yo Bro....This is American American here. Yes I am ignorant of other countries cultures. He*l its their cultures and since I'm not going to sneak over the boarder to Mexico and try to commit other crimes I don't much care about their culture one way or the other. I like my culture, I just wish they'd leave it alone.

I was traveling down I 70 last week and stopped at a Flying J for some fuel and a coffee. Parked over by the door that I went into I happened to see a little senorita in the back seat of a car servicing a Jose with another one in the front seat looking on. I was a little shocked but hey, I mind my own business! I went in to get my coffee and I see another couple of Jose's walking up the isle looking around like they were checking out the place. I happened to notice that one of them had his pants unzipped and you guessed it; gross. I guess that I don't know if your right or wrong but that one little girl must have been going at it with all four of them dudes. Yeah, I don't think I want to know the Mexican culture.

Marino; id yourself dude, don't hide behind a mask. You can do it...come on, just a little bit of courage and you can let everyone know who you really are since you want to have some one on ones. Come on.....Yeah, didn't think so.

And Roco; I've traveled quite extensively. I've fought for the ideals of the US and I've paid my taxes for 40 years. I choose to live in the US because I love this country. I've learned to hate immigration, both illegal and legal from Mexicans because they have no patriotism or concern for this wonderful nation. If the legals had patriotism they would have stayed in Mexico and tried to develop it instead of running. The illegals are just that, criminals. You insult people that you don't know with you highbrow know it all attitude when you are probably no more than 18 and have done nothing constructive your whole life. Try working hard for years and then have somebody come and tear it down; see if you squawk a different tune.

Ignorant people as in Yahoo! Answers' immigration section? I would say yes, many of them are ignorant of other countries cultures, immigration laws, legal or illegal immigration effects on the US, and many other things. Many countries hate this nation not because, as one of the above answerer wrote, "because we number one." Many countries hate this country because it is always getting into other countries' affairs with the excuse of "helping;" and can't people tell that the US is trying to monopolize the oil market? (they would have done the same thing with diamonds if it wasn't because Russia holds most of its resources and China is a Russia backer). I love this country as many of you do and I do consider this country to be the best in the world. But does anyone know that we are somehow other countries' puppets? let's say China or Japan? these two countries together hold 80% of the US bonds. If they decide to get rid of them, we would be in deep doo doo. So, I doubt it's jealousy the reason of why other nations hate the US. I remember 3 years back, the US was trying to get into China political matters with Hong Kong, China right away told the US "stay away from our matters." Same as the war that is going on now. What the hell are the soldiers still doing there, where the hell is the nuclear weapon? Uhhm..that sounds to me like "money and power."

Sorry, back to your culture thing, as I said, many people on here are ignorant of other countries' cultures. There's a lot of stereotyping, but that happens everywhere, such as white Americans multi-marriages...

To many people here who "answered" this question: why are you telling an American to leave this country. I believe that the guy's name is MEXICAN-AMERICAN. He still is a citizen of this country and you have no right to ask him to leave. But to the guy above me who wrote that he wishes to see Muslim bombing a couple of US' cities...well, they already did, and it wasn't nice. But really, if you say that the gringos are malparidos and you hate them so much, why don't you move to another country where there aren't that many "malparidos."

i would expect all woman to do this if their man is fooling around. i know a Mexican woman who kicked her Mexican husband out because he was flirting. so i don't now what your talking about. i have more respect for Mexican woman then i do for the Mexican men.

My exhusband was from Mexico and apparently he thought it was.Thats why I divorced him..,not to attack Mexicans..,just my experience is they dont have alot of respect for women..,except their mothers whom they do love and defend dearly.Just my experience.
