If they are saved by Jesus, the dont go to hell. But I believe if someone loves God, they would be happy in knowing that, and would not want to take their own life. So you cant really be sure. I will say though, that I believe if it isnt your time to go, you cant kill yourself even if you tried. You only die when God says it is time.

A real touchy subject. I did commit suicide. I bled out so much that I died twice for a total of 12.5 minutes. I'm not sure where I would be now if my heart had'nt began beating again after they pronounced me dead. The Word is, curiously, silent on this issue. The only account that makes me wonder about what does happen to a suicide is Judas Iscariot. Peter said in the Acts that Judas "went on to his reward." I'm not sure if that means because he betrayed the Master, or because he committed suicide, or both. Suicide is considered by almost all people as an act of cowardice and selfishness. In Revelation it states that "the cowardly" will not enter the Kingdom of God. I'm not sure in what sense and meaning of cowardice that verse refers to, but I do know that the Master said ALL manner of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven unto the sons of men (except, of course, the unforgiveable sin), so I would easily draw the conclusion from this that God knew your friends pain and his heart. Per chance your friend may have asked God to forgive him in the moment before he consummated the act. Some argue against that, but how will we who are left behind really know? Is your friend in Heaven? I do not know. I obviously did not know him or his heart. Only God did. I think that his situation is in God's hands, and we must accept His verdict. What else can we do?

People who die from suicide are like people who die from a disease only the disease is a mental illness. God doesn't condemn people who die because they are sick. No where in the Bible do you see suicide listed as a sin. There are something like five or six cases of suicide in the Bible and the events are just recorded with no commentary given on the people having committed a sin by taking their own life. One of the stories is when Samson toppled the pagan temple on himself and the Philistines for instance.

That having been said, a person should not take the "easy way out". They should seek medical help to see if they are suffering from a chemical imbalance that causes depression. They should seek spiritual help and comfort from other members of the body of Christ because demonic forces like nothing better than to kill God's children before they can fulfill his plan for them here on earth.

i don't know if you go to hell, but i think when someone commits suicide it leave friends and relatives in hell. I don't know that suicide is the easy way out because usually people agonize over it before they do it. My daughter has had a few friends that committed suicide and their families are devastated because of it. It is extremely sad when someone sees no other way. It is even worse when someone commits suicide by involving others like walking in front of a car or train or suicide by getting a cop to shoot them it hurts a total stranger as well as their loved ones.

I use to hate my life enough that I did not want to be alive anymore so I attempted suicide a couple of times-thankfully it didn't work! I believe if a person is in so much misery that they take the easy way out than God has a special place close to Heaven for them and He holds them as close to Him as those who are in Heaven with Him. I am sorry to hear of your loss of your friend tho"-that is the bad part of it-the person that kills themself doesn't stop and think of the ones they leave behind-and the pain it can cause them.

Often committed by those suffering from severe clinical depression or bipolar, both genetic, and very rare but responsible for a large portions of suicides. Bipolar, or vast changes in mood, is rare and active from birth. True clinical depression, or unbalanced serotonin levels, is also genetic and rare (most who take a happy pill are not diagnosed with clinical depression), but takes environmental factors.

I suffered from clinical depression for three years, of which I was often suicidal. Ive felt things I wouldn't wish on anyone, worse than any hell imaginable. I've felt my body eating itself alive, physical pain beyond belief. I think unless has experienced how these diseases consume a person they have no room to talk.

I don't think suicide is the easy way out at all. I think people who commit suicide are hurting more deeply than anyone can imagine. And I believe ANYONE could be driven to suicide if in an extremely painful position long enough and see no other way out. Anyone who says they would NEVER do anything like that is an idiot. God knows our hearts, even when we are driven to something that drastic. I think you should trust God to take care of your friend. He loves him and knows him and saw his pain even more than you did.
God Bless you!

Sadly we have experienced suicide in out family. I don't dare say where someone goes when they take there own life. Its very sad, but it happens every day. Some say its murder, I don't know if I would call it murder. I think in order to take your own life you have to be very ill. So where they go my friend is in God's hands. Who knows what the person was thinking the seconds before he or she was really dead.
Its not a stupid question, I belive you ask it with a pure heart. I pray God gives you his peace that surpasses all understanding, in the name of Jesus Amen.

I am sorry. My cousin committed suicide 7 years ago and it haunts me to this day. You just wish you had another 5 minutes with him to realize how lost he was and hang on to him. I don't think the bible expressly states suicide is automatic damnation. It is interpreted as being murder, though. The only unforgiveable sin is blasphemy. Obviously, I don't know the answer to your question, but maybe you can pray for him and for everyone else who is desperate enough to take his or her own life.

Suicide is a sin. People who come to God through faith in Jesus Christ have their sins forgiven, past present and future. The Bible does not state that people that commit suicide go to hell, that is entirely a catholic teaching.
