No, JPM is an aggressive driver. Always has been, always will be.
I haven't seen the Raines incident yet so can't comment, but it can't be worse than what Newman did to him at Miami last year can it?!

Not really. Mexico City seemed like a rookie mistake. Montoya didn't really contact Raines that hard and I don't think that Raines had a much better car, otherwise he would have been able to pass montoya more quickly and more cleanly. Keep in mind that Montoya also passed and was passed by about 20+ other cars yesterday without incident. "squeaky clean"Jeff Gordon rubbed Jimmie Johnson on and off for a few laps.

I wouldn't necessarily say that Juan Pablo is a dirty driver. Not yet, anyway. I really haven't seen enough of him yet. I would say that he is a very aggressive driver. He's out for the win, but then again who isn't. I would have to say that he is testing out his bounds with the car he is driving today vs. the open wheel cars that he is used to.
In the open wheel series, he could never use his car to bump other cars out of the way. Two cars making contact in the open wheel series almost always results in disaster. In NASCAR, rubbing IS racing. I think that he is just a little too aggressive.
It used to be that the Cup rookies had a few years under their belts from the lower Busch series before coming up. That would give them a sense of what a stock car was, and what to expect from the competition. Nowadays, alot of Cup rookies either have very little stock car experience or in some cases none at all (like our cocky little Juan Pablo). Also, most rookies realized that the yellow stripe across the back end of their car was their for a reason. They are rookies. They should give a little. Overaggressive rookies have been causing some problems with the veterans.
The only solution that I really have for this problem is for NASCAR to do something about all the Cup drivers that are driving the Busch series. Leave the Busch series as a lower level racing event for lower level drivers. That way, you have a group of drivers that are ready to come to Cup. And, I think that all drivers should be required to spend at least three years in the Busch series before moving up to the Cup series.

I don't know if he's a dirty driver or if he's just not smart. I guess because he was a superstar before he feels that he can do no wrong. I'm sure that the other drivers are not going to let him get away with the stunts he pulls. He needs to give the other drivers respect or he will be in trouble soon. If he does something stupid to say Jeff Gordon or Stewart or Harvick he'll find out fast how if feels to be wrecked.

Go back to the video. Raines was roughing Montoya up a little bit, and all the Fox Broadcast showed was Montoya finally getting a shot back @ Raines and it was a good enough shot to spin him out. If you can't take it, don't dish it Raines.

He is not the first to get wrecked by a "medias" child.Face it JP is one of the top 10 that the media wants to write about.Would that have happened in the days or the Allisons,Yarbrough? No they would have run his butt into the fence, but nooooooooooooooo not today the media will write bad things about you.
JP has a long way to go.
That's all I have to say about that.

At first I liked him, but I'm starting to think he is a dirty driver. The NASCAR announcers have even made comments like "Juan (one) is a lonely number" because he surely isn't making any friends on the track.

Yes, not only with Raines, but also with Pruett in Mexico City. I think its because in Formula 1 there isn't that level of mutual respect that NASCAR drivers have. In order for drivers to have sucess in F1, they have to use an aggresive take-no-prisoners style of driving. Most F1 drivers are known for their aggressive driving. Meanwhile in NASCAR, there is more respect for drivers who race cleanly. Guys like Mark Martin and Jeff Burton have built their careers around fair, clean racing and there is always this adage of "I'll race you clean if you race me clean." Montoya just needs to understand how NASCAR works first of all. I just wish that Dale Earnhardt Sr. was still around to teach this guy how to be a real NASCAR driver.

I think JP has a ton of talent but NASCAR needs to step up and do something, he doesnt know when to take it easy, he wreks his teamates and last week at Bristol was out of control, then he dumps Raines today...he needs to pay attention to what he is doing on the track, or get out of NASCAR and go wreck some more people in open wheel.
