Layering can add texture and dimension to your hair. Consult a hair dresser because you need to consider the current length of your hair, the texture, your face shape and the amount of time you are willing to spend styling your hair.

Layers can add body, make your hair appear thicker and more full.
The best way to to describe layers without going to technical:
Imagine one of those PlayDough people that you can give "hair" by pushing the PlayDough inside the form. When it comes out, each noodle strand is essentially the same length, but since they sprout from different areas (front of the head, side, crown, etc.) they appear in "layers". Make sense at all?
Seek a local salon pro for a complimentary consultation. Someone who can see and feel your hair, evaluate its condition and consider your face shape will give you the best advice on a layered style that will look great.
Best of luck!

It gives the hair some body and texture.
Basically they cut your hair at slightly different lengths to create the layers. It makes the hair look fuller and it gives it volume when you style it.
The layered look also looks great on everyone, so theres no need to worry about it looking weird.
It also adds bounce, which is what you want.
Go for it. (:

layered is when they cut your hair at different 'angles' and lengths so they overlap. it looks really good in pony tails and or flat. if you want bouncier or more fuller hair you can use Volume shampoo.

its different cuts in your hair, its used to either a thin out your hair, b at volume, c look more adult, d even out your face shape. you can get your hair layered and blow dry it out and use a volumizing hair spray and you should have lovely hair.
