I would say you neighbor don't know properly what science really means or is, nor reason. God and reason have long been friends, God is the author of it and it is only recently that innovators have thought otherwise. You are just a follower. Consider this startling admission by Nobel Prize winner George Wald (1906–1997):

"There are only two possible explanations as to how life arose. Spontaneous generation arising to evolution or a supernatural creative act of God. . . . There is no other possibility. Spontaneous generation was scientifically disproved 120 years ago by Louis Pasteur and others, but that just leaves us with only one other possibility. . . that life came as a supernatural act of creation by God, but I can’t accept that philosophy because I do not want to believe in God. Therefore I choose to believe in that which I know is scientifically impossible, spontaneous generation leading to evolution."

It seems you must learn the difference between a philosophical comittment and science. Mr. Wald is honest, but not only honest but smart enough to know this about himself, many men and women are not.

I'd say its the other way around. Try to find a place in the bible that 'rebels' against science and reason. The bible isn't a text book, but it actually does contain scientific truths. for instance: it stated that the world is round, far before anyone even dreamed it could be so; it says that all rivers run into the sea. Now lets check out Darwin: The Big Bang. ok, so a rock just suddenly appeared and came to life. I dont care how ling it took, or how small it was. has anyone seen a rock just 'appear'? Christians aren't rebbelling against science; evolution is a lame excuse not to believe in christianity.

No rebelling here . Mans` science has already proven that matter cannot create itself out of nothing , mans` science cannot create DNA , Mans` science has proven that the only thing that can produce a protein molecule is another protein molecule. What reasoning is there to dicuss ? So you can see where A Christians reasoning is based , not in the world and its` opinions and twisted and unfounded statements; but in the Truth of The Word of God ! GOD 101 = Genesis 1 :1 .. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth . ( and thats` the way it is )..

That's a great way of putting it.

Theist say Atheist rebel against God. They refuse to believe that others don't believe. Christians don't rebel against science. They refuse to accept it due do the brain washing of religions.

Christians normally rebel against untruth, and neither science or reason is free from bias. Many scientists that I know of are not looking objectively for the truth but have an agenda to prove things like evolution. They accept evidence that supports what they believe, and reject evidence that does not. It is the human element in science that is the flaw.

This might have been a legitimate questions a couple of decades ago, but no longer. Read the book "The Case for a Creator" by Lee Strobel. You might be surprised where science is leading us with the discoveries (biochemistry, physics, cosmology, biology) over the last 30 years or so...

Only the fundies

on another note

"it is just until I find that one uncle in my family tree that actually lives in the family tree then I will take another look at it "

Looks like someone doesn't know what a common ancestor is.
I can't believe there are people who still think we evolved from monkeys. For the last time : COMMON ANCESTOR

No; why would you think that? Many Christians are scientists, in fact I work in a science field.

No. I'd take them at face value: they honestly, truly believe in what they profess, and believe that their behavior is the best humanly possible. Troubles with science and reason can't tell them they're wrong; they simply see it as proof that science and reason are wrong.

Not this one. I love science and reason. Our beliefs are not mutually exclusive.
