If you have a dog that has killed other animals he needs some serious training. Is he nuetered? That is the first step. The next step is obedience training. After that I'm not sure? Good luck and Be careful.

Never, ever hit your dog. With a newspaper or anything. What is wrong with you? He's not stubborn, he's just not trained. If you have to whack him to get him to listen to you, then he's not really listening. He's noticing the smack. A dog that is trained does not need to be hit in order to obey commands -- no matter what kind of dog it is.
And if your dog is violent toward other animals, you'd better either figure out a way to get him under better control or be prepared for tragedy. It's only a matter of time before he goes after a child, or maybe even you.
Find a local obedience class or a good dog trainer and get him trained now.
And if he's not neutered, get that done too. Neutered dogs are much less aggressive.

Keep in mind that pit bulls were originally bred to fight other dogs but not attack their owners. As a result, many male pits are dog aggressive. Unless they are socialized with other dogs at puppyhood, this can be a problem.
You could try working with a trainer that uses firm but gentle training methods, but it may not work 100% and you may never be able to trust him with other animals completely. Call your vet or local humane society for recommendations for good local trainers who have dealt with this issue. If he is not neutered, you should do so - it reduces aggression in male dogs and may help.

call the Dog Whisperer!!! No, seriously, if he's not fixed, fix him. Then enroll him in a doggy obedience class ASAP. Make sure in the mean time that he is on a strong leash, with a strong collar (not one with plastic clasps), and keep him in your yard at all times. Most states have laws specifically about pit bulls. If one gets loose or harms another animal, it can be destroyed.

You need to train yourself in how to train pitbulls. I know it sounds strange, but they aren't like all other dogs, they need a high level of training to avoid this kind of problem. Take him to a trainer with experience in pittbull training, they'll show you how. Rolled up newspaper is for normal dogs, your dog is a bred fighting dog, and without the right training, that's exactly what they'll do.

in my opinion you have no choice but to have him put to sleep.he is attacking other animals that is not anymore acceptable than him attacking a person.i think if he acts like that he will attack and maybe kill a child or another person or even an animal.you must not let that happen.i am sorry but either put him to sleep or shoot him there is no other choice.good luck.

What kind of(commands) have you taught him?? Hopefully not (attack) if you did--you are responsible for his actions!! Also--if you did and he attacks a person--you can be charged for"attack with a deadly weapon"!! What is(what he needs to do)? You left out alot of information!
