A part of you might be hoping there's a passage in the Bible that says children don't go to hell. Keep reading; you won't find it. If Biblegod wanted you to know this, wouldn't he have mentioned it somewhere in the Bible?

Do you believe that a three-year-old who dies "without Christ" will be tortured in hell forever? If you believe that he CAN get to heaven "without Christ," WHY do you believe this? Jesus Christ himself said that you don't get to heaven without Jesus, period (John 14:6).

1 Corinthians 7:14 (KJV)
14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

Here we are told that an unbelieving husband is sanctified by a believing wife. Even though he is a non-christian he is set apart or cleansed through the believing wife. It does not say that he is saved but only that he is sanctified. The same is true, if there was a believing husband and an unbelieving wife. The wife would be cleansed or sanctified by the believing husband. The verse goes on to say that if the unbelieving parent was not sanctified by the believing parent then the children would be unclean. We stated above that all children are born sinners. I think this verse indicates that they would still be sinners and lost if the unbelieving parent was not purified by the believing parent. God in his mercy has allowed one believing marriage partner to sanctify, justify, or cleanse the other in order to allow the infant child to be considered clean, holy, without blemish, without sin and is therefore saved if it should die at that point. The verse also implies that if both the husband and wife are unbelievers then the resulting children would be considered to be unclean, unholy or unsaved and if it dies before it reaches the age where it becomes responsible for its own decisions it would be lost.

study points out how important it is for the parents in a family to be Christians. It is not only their own salvation which is at stake, but also the salvation of all the children which are born to them, at least until the children reach the age of accountability. It should also be noted that it is probably much harder for a child to make the right decision when he reaches the age of accountability concerning his salvation if he has grown up and been trained throughout his childhood in a non-Christian family.

Jesus has final judgment on our souls. If He feels that they were fully aware of their words and actions and were within the age of reason, He can hold them fully reasonable for their wrong doings. So in some cases a older child, like a teenage, can go to hell. But an infant or toddler has no reasoning and no understanding of sin or even who Jesus is, so I'm pretty sure that Jesus will let them enter Heaven. Jesus told us several times in the Bible that He wants us to be like children, innocent and always loving and trusting. A young soul knows it's Creator because it hasn't been in the material world long enough to have been corrupted. Jesus said to let all the children come to Him.

Jesus says, unless you come to me as a little child, you will in no way inherit the kingdom of Heaven.

We are all born with a sin nature because of Adam's disobedience to God. If a three year old dies, he is not old enough or intelligent enough to be accountable.

No one gets to Heaven without Christ's sacrifice for them. There are some who have never heard the Word. There are some who can't understand the Word such as babies and mentally challenged people. Jesus died for them. God's grace covers their inability to understand this.

For those who hear the Word but, reject Jesus, that is another matter. They have rejected Him and will not be with Him at the end of their life unless they change their heart toward Him.

A child is not able to chose Jesus yet. They cant repent, or understand sin. When they are able to be accountable for their actions and know what they are doing is wrong then they are accountable. The 15 yr old who was in a gang, who took drugs and killed for drugs is different than the 4 yr old who found dad's gun in his room and wanted to play with it and killed his brother. There comes a time when the child knows right from wrong. God is fair and has purpose for even a child who dies too early in life. ( 2 Samuel 12:23) John 3:36 says "whoever rejects the Son will not have life"....so how can a child too young understand how to reject Jesus?

I believe that God is the ultimate judge and no matter what is said here on Yahoo Answers, he will decide who will or won't enter into the kingdom of heaven. We as christians should just do our part and spread the word. Whether or not others accept it is their own perogative as long as we do our part. We should not judge or shun nonbelievers, but we should pray for their salvation. I'm not sure what you mean by 'without Christ' when referring to that three year old, but I personally don't believe that an innocent three year child is going to hell.

John the baptist said Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. He did not say sins of the world because this is something that man is to repent of when he becomes accountable.A child is not accountable.Jesus took away the sin curse that was handed down through Adam by taking away the "sin of the world". John 1:29. Therefore a child is an automatic ANGEL.Praise the Lord and thank You Jesus.

Their is a point that choice and understanding of sin being committed is comprehended. When that child knows fully he is about to commit a sin against God then he is subject to law. As the Gentiles lived their life without the written law that the Jews had but by the Law written in their heart and mind. If they kept to the internal Law ignorance in this case only is a defense. That is why many Christians do not read the bible so as to not know all the discipline one needs to make their walk with God harder. When I get to heaven and God asks me about the time I spent in his word I hope I hear "Well done" and not "You do not know me and I do not know you."

i am not a Bible buff but no, I don't think children can go to Hell! You don't sin unless you believe you did wrong and if you don't know better then you can't sin. Being ignorant of the Lord isn't a childs fault, some are too young to know and others have never been shown the door to the right path. i don't really know the answer but I know it's not a sin if you don't know better. for instance life people with mental disorders(born that way or what give you) they don't know better not because they are stupid but because they are ignorant inthe fact that they just don't know, the same for a kid. so i say no they can't.

The Bible really doesn't say very much about that subject. Personally, I don't believe that all children go to heaven, but I think God is the one who makes the choice. I really can't support that opinion from clear scripture so I'm not really dogmatic about it.
