There is a grandad, a dad and 2 boys. each of them want to sit down, but there are only 3 chairs. how did they all fit in the chairs?
HINT: they did not sit on eachother's knees.

The Granddad is also the Dad of the father of the boys,So he is one & the same. So, the Grandad & 2 boys sit in the 3 chairs, as that is all that is needed for all to sit.

There are only two people there, so they had a chair left over.
1. Grandad is, by definition, a dad and a boy.
2. The other boy could be a relative, a friend, or a male stranger.

the dad is the grandad's boy and the dad has a son which is the second boy....so they all took one chair.
