Obviously the worst case scenario I can think of is any type of large scale nuclear exchange.

A nuclear exchange could happen between India and Pakistan. They both have nukes and hate each other.

We still have a mutual defense pact with China, and most of Europe, protecting them from Russia. So if Russia for some reason attacked Europe, or China with nuclear weapons we would launch against Russia who I am sure in turn would launch against us.

I know that with our Ohio class submarines alone we could destroy the world several times over, and thats just with our Navy nuclear assets not to mention our Air Force assets.

I know that we now have anti-ballistic missile systems against nuclear attack, but they are very secretive about their capabilities. I do not know how effective they are.

The effects of a large scale nuclear exchange on the planet, and the planets population would be devistating.
