Are you aware that the New Testament gives us no reason to think that the believers in the early church ever referred to themselves as Christians? The word "Christian" is used only three times in the New Testament (Acts 11:26, Acts 26:28, I Peter 4:16), and the context strongly indicates that "Christian" was an insult. Why do you think people today who believe in Jesus call themselves "Christians?"

Words change. It's the way it's been and it's the way it will continue. Christians are in the Bible referred to as ' In the Way' , and that meaning ahas changed hasn't it. There was a Christian movement that inspired their own Bible called "The Way" because of it. So that has changed to.

I would rather have the title as Christian than many of the other titles that some people give! lol

There are a number of similarities between a marriage ceremony and baptism. Baptism is the entrance into the Christian family. One takes the name of Christ (Christian). God designs that this is to be a life-time experience in which ones personal relationship with Him is ever improving and very personal. Salvation through the shed blood of Jesus on Calvary is the theme of the Gospel (Romans3:25,5:9 Ephesians 1:7 Colossians1:20 Hebrews 9;22 Revelation1:5etc) You can depend upon it by faith through His grace.

in Bible time the word Christian was used as a form of mockery it ment "little Christ". i think that people (Christians) want to be like Christ so being refured to as "little Christ" means that you are doing something right. even though some people just like the title instead of accualy going to church and being saved.
