According to the NY Times, it's only a proposed ban. It hasn't been passed yet. As far as I know the only country with real laws against veiling is the Netherlands, although it's frowned on in Britain, and I think France has passed legislation against veiling in schools. Also, it's only full face veils that are under question in Britain, headscarves are alright, so long as they conform to school uniform color requirements.
The United States cannot constitutionally pass any restriction on dress whatsoever, and any school attempting to ban headscarves or other hajib garments would face serious constitutional problems. They could probably get away with not allowing full body burqas in schools if only for logistical reasons, bur they won't ever be able to ban headscarves.
Britain can pass whatever law it likes because separation of church and state isn't part of their constitution, nor is there any legal protection for religious expression in Britain. French law is openly hostile to religious expression.

Yes face veil is banned in all schools in UK.Before UK France has banned face veil too in all schools and in the society.I do not read or hear about the same ban in USA.
But according to me face veil ban is against with the human rights.For women muslim wearing a face veil is a must.It is an obligation from God as it is spoken in the holy qur'an surah 7 Al Araaf verse 26,surah 24 An Nuur verse 31 and su rah 33 Al Ahzab verse4 59.If we did not comply to the God's obligation we will have sins.God instructed women to wear face veil for making a difference with non muslim and for the safety of women muslims.

No its not Uk law to ban the veil. It depends on school's policy how they react towards this matter. By the way this is also a religious racism to ban the veil . As this is the religion (ISLAM) which gives the option to the muslim girl to wear veil.
May ALLAH guide the misguided very well so that they can understand the importance of veil in muslim girls life.

Micheele:- Why , why should we move to S.A, is the UK or the US your property? Is it not God's created land?
By the way you should know that even Christians, Jewish, and Hindu should wear veils according to their religious scripture.
