Eat half as much food. When you sit down to eat dinner with your parents, ask your mom to give you half the portion. When you go to dinner with friends, go ahead and ask for a to-go box when the food arrives, and put half of it in the box to eat later. If you eat half the food, you are consuming half the calories-- you are bound to lose weight. And it is a healthy method of doing it. You eat whatever you want, just not as much as you may want.
Also, start working out, doing cardio stuff. What active things do you lie doing? Tennis, jogging, biking, aerobics. Find something active that you enjoy, and try to find someone who would enjoy doing those things with you. If your work out is fun rather than a chore, you are more likely to do it.
Good luck!!

This is a great question, because you and I are in almost the same boat. I weigh 160 pounds and I'm 5'6''. I'm 20 years old...and I'm been trying to lose weight since I graduated high school. All these stupid fad diets don't work, so let me try to help you out. I recently got a membership at a gym. It was pretty cheap, only $50 for 3 months. I'm trying to get ready for summer, and I want to finally look good in a bikini. What you need to do, is try to work out at least 4 days a week. Weight lifting isn't even necessary at this point. Basically you want to get your heart rate elevated, and keep it elevated for at least 30 mintues. You could run on a treadmill, use an eliptical machine, stair climber, bicycle, anything that will elevate your heart rate. As long as you start exercising, you will lose weight, but eating right will make it happen faster. The easiest change that will make the most difference, is if you replace snacks with something healthy. Apple with peanut butter, vegetables with low fat dressing, something like that. Cut out all fast food and all fried food. But the really important thing is DONT deprive yourself of your favorite foods. If you really love chocolate chip cookies, let yourself have one every now and then. If you don't, you'll cave in all at once and eat the whole package (speaks from experience). I really hope you can reach your goal :)

I would suggest Weight Watchers. I lost 100lbs several years ago and kept it off until I got pregnant with my daughter. I am currently losing weight with their plan again to lose the baby weight. I like their plan because you eat regular every day food. They just teach you how to eat in moderation. You should be weary of any diet plan that promises you that you will lose 3 or more lbs a week. If you do a plan like that I promise you that the weight will return plus more. Weight Watchers is inexpensive and I never feel deprived since I can eat anything I want, just not tons of it. Low carb diets are not realistic. Nobody can live no little to no carbs for long. And what happens when you start adding carbs back? You gain weight back. Stick to a diet plan that uses all of the food groups and lets you eat foods you like to eat. Good luck!

You should always work with your doctor!
Losing weight boils down to what you take in should be less than what you burn. Don't starve yourself! Eat healthy lean meats, fish, fruits, and vegetables. Exercise, but make sure to break it up. If you do the same exercises all the time you will hit a plateau and won't be able to lose any more. Mix it up, walking with aerobics. swimming with weights. A good website to keep track of your info is www.fitday.com
Good Luck!

Fats are nothing more than stored acid. If you continue to take acidic food, even with exercise you cannot get rid of fats. Therefore you must solve the weight problem at the source : eating acidic food. By taking alkaline food, you prevent the intake of acid to create more fats. Besides doing exercise, you must eat only alkaline food.
Read the book "pH miracle for weight loss". See photos of people losing weight at ease. If you want to loose weight super fast, there is an alkaline liquid diet. According the book, people are loosing 10 pounds or more within the first 8 days. Go to the website below to see which food (and even fruits) that are acidic.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats, take 300-400 calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
5-8servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water a day
5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones (breakfast is the most important - make sure to get complex carbs like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruit etc)
4-6 times a week cardio for 30-50min, light weight training, many reps
no junk food, no sodas, no alcohol, no white flour (cakes, cookies, white bread, pasta etc.), nothing high in sugar (ice cream)

Cardio respiratory exercise is excellent for weight loss. Get out and walk fast enough that you sweat and breathe heavier for 20-60 minutes a day. Eat healthy (fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, lean protein and whole grains). If you don't like walking, try another activity that raises your heart rate to 130-170 beats per minute. That's the aerobic heart rate for someone about your age.
You've got a great, healthy attitude, go for it!

Believe it or not, the best exercise you can do is walking. As for the diet, don't omit anything from your diet, just eat smaller portions. If you're a snacker, when you feel the urge to snack, drink a glass of water or grab a piece of fruit like a banana or a bunch of grapes.

Two simple things....
Eat less
Exercise
Just eat a little less at each meal; stay away from the really bad foods - french fries, chips, mayo on sandwiches....pretty simple...
For exercise....keep it simple....do what you like....walking is simple and efficient...to be sure you do it...whatever it is...enlist a friend....someone to walk, run, bike, swim, workout with...he or she will push you to do something when you don't want to and vice versa....
Don't be in a hurry....one or two pounds a week is enough...anything else is too much to sustain....
Remember...you want to establish habits / a program you can sustain for the rest of your life....take it easy....go slow...and the results will stick...
good luck
